Its been a bit of a "holly grail" to attain an oral treatment for MS, since all our current treatments involve an injection.
My understanding of the issue a number of drugs have with oral delivery is that the stomach is a highly acidic place that destroys the actual medication in many cases.
Ok, so the plan is to move away from injections, and oral delivery is not really an options (in most cases), I am wondering why we do not see any drugs using a suppository technique for delivery? I know I would prefer this over having to inject myself 1-7 times a week. I have never seen this method even considered. It feels like they get together and agree "well they can't swallow it, lets make them inject it!" and that's the only options considered.
Sure, it sounds a little paranoid, but it doesn't mean they are not after me. huh. huh.  |

A patch would probably cause skin irritation.
A pill would be wonderful.

Nicotine can be delivered in a controlled manner via a patch, but from what I understand it was very difficult technology to master. i.e. expensive.

And this would be bad in comparison to injection site reactions how?

I understand the stomach environment to be a major hazard for medications.

I would hazard a guess that the issue with "snorting" medication, is controlling the dose? |

This may be but it's not like the injectibles are cheap! I'd try something like this over doing a daily shot!

Cure,
Injecting leaves very little drug touching the top skin. A patch would irritate a larger area for a longer period. Not a pleasant thought for me.
Just my ideas, I would try a pill.
