Yay! Rah! Go, Chris, go!
I'm so happy to hear the great news, and delighted you've come over here to post it on the boards. Give Chenelle a big hug for me-

At some point the impressive changes are going to slow down but always keep in mind that lack of progression is success and any reduction of symptoms has just been frosting on the cake. Even with that in mind, you might have read a while ago that raven was recently surprised to find that he could run again, two years after campath treatment

The fact that I am still slowly improving 2 years after my final treatment gives me great hope for the future.
so even when things no longer seem impressive healing might continue unnoticed.....??

And you earned your medical degree from which University?

Go Chris (and others)!

Reading about brain plasticity, plateaus of 6-12 months is not unusual. It's a period of consolidation as new neurons bed in the pathways, the path will be jagged but overall trend will still be up.

We'll have a 5 year reunion Chris, everyone is within 11 months of each other, should be quite a party.

The older I get (for which I am thankful), the less tolerant I am of BS. Sorry, it comes with age.

Go Chris etal.

And evidently age causes one to become less able to recognize BS. Define what statement is BS and WHY it's BS?

While I admit that NOTHING in the world of MS is supported by conclusive evidence, nothing I mentioned was any more than repeating what researchers in the field have already said.

Oh I even agree with Bob...I am going to eventually slow up...so far it has for everyone at some point unless they were not too far gone.

I just plan on letting the grave dictate when I am done healing-whether I feel the healing happening or not.

Laughing Of course the heart of hearts of anyone with MS would most like to go to their pre-MS condition, but barring that, I have never heard of anyone with MS who wouldn't, at a minimum, want to stop their disease progression at their current level of disability.

The point I was trying to make is that researchers seem to believe that the quick improvements in symptoms is owed to the elimination? of inflammation and after the inflammation is gone things slow down and maybe remyelinisation, reaxonisation or rerouting of neural pathways is responsible for the continued, but slower improvement that people notice in the years afterwards.

I read big mouth Bob's reaction as actually tempering enthusiasm with realistic expectation.

I know where all the animosity comes from...

A large number of people have rested their hopes on something that, well, it may stop progression and slow it up for some, but not all. This seems to actually work on all, if there is a large number of activity.

Now, that being said, I don't mean this like it sounds, ( I am not this big a dick) but that airplane bitch or the other doofus you all scared off is a perfect example, if you put all your hope on something, and the guy next to you was not only on something else but actually getting better, well, you'd be hurt and pissed too.

I came off wrong in the beginning...but I do firmly believe if you are not actively trying to beat this disease you are settling for having it. I tried for Tovaxin, I couldn't get in. I tried 2 different CRABs and LDN. Nothing. I finally got the holy grail of MY MS and your damn right I'm going to shout it from a mountain top. I maintain there is no reason I am getting better and others are not as well. The more I talk the more you all will bug your doctors and the sooner you can all get something to work for the "rest of us."

Chris,
I know you are probably right but it is hard for me to believe that everyone wouldn't be happy for someone who is getting relief. There is certainly a Karmic element at work in all this. Help others, help yourself. It's the type A thing we all have to overcome. Maybe that is the lesson we are meant to learn.
Be Well,
Lars
