HELLO ALL
WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE IS ONT BIRTH CONTROL PILL WHILE ON AVONEX, I KNOW WITH ALOT OF MEDS, IT MAKES THE PILL LESS EFFECTIVE, WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAD ANY "INCIDENTS" WITH KNOWING? THANKS GUYS

Though I am not on BC, my Neuro did suggest that I could go on it if I wanted and I am on Avonex. He suggested that I could go on it because I notice that my MS symptoms seem to get worse around the onset of my period. He suggested I go on BC

I have been on Avonex for 2 years and have always been on birth control - the ortho evra patch for the past year. The 2 medications will not interact or interfere with each other in anyway. Any birth control is a dose of hormones meant to control your menstrual cycle. The Avonex will only effect your immune system and does not effect your endocrine (hormone) system.
