Newlywed,
How did you find out your state will cover? I am in Florida. I have been reluctant to call BCBS of Florida and point out that I have MS and am going for CCSVI, because I don't want to make an issue out of something that maybe they wouldn't have had a problem with in the first place. Thanks.

What's the latest on Montel-Who is he going to for treatment

I hear Montel is very close to his appointment now. Does anyone know which doctor he has chosen to perform his treatment and has he disclosed what his testing showed?

I can't find any details about this on his FB page or elsewhere.

Just curious.

Yes, As CeCe wrote, I can also confirm their was a death shortly after CCSVI at PI/Synergy. It was posted on the Newport Beach CCSVI group by the administrator. The information was stated that the patient was from Canada and did not die in the hotel. It seemed to imply the death occurred within a fe...

Since there was a recent article on many of the CCSVI boards about oxidative stress being a trigger/factor to MS, I think that it also makes sense that diet could potentially enhance the CCSVI results and halt or slow restenosis. I know the angioplasty for the heart is a different situation, but sti...

Restenosis and Nutrition

I was just watching a PBS special of Dr. Joel Fuhrman discussing nutrition for health, and he happened to mention that heart disease patients often "restenose" (the word he used) after angioplasty because they continue eating unhealthy (i.e., the Standard American Diet [SAD] diet).....and ...

I like Montel. I give him credit for being able to cry publicly over his MS. Personally I have lost my ability to cry because I am so emotionally numb. Montel is in a tricky position because his livelihood is a public figure and if he goes out on a limb too much for something that doesn't work out f...

Cece, I am pretty sure that is exactly what it means--the effective date is when the change takes effect. If the procedure is done after the decision was made but before the "effective date," then the procedure should be covered. I am not in the health insurance business, but I think that ...

Happy Poet, Thank you for the detailed response on Dr. Sclafani. I don't know him personally but from his writings and videos and what others have told me, I can see he is incredibly knowledgeable and even genius and always thinking about how to make this procedure better--all of which impress me. I...

Codefellow, Thanks for the info on sticky's. And moreover, I see what you mean now about the issue of why there is a downside of a site that rates the IRs, if some want to go under the radar and such....I guess the best way for patients is just to look for testimonials and also to decide on what tec...

I am certainly curious to hear about Montel's decision. I recall a month or two ago when he wrote that he was tested by Dr. Dake. Now it appears just in the past 17 hours he wrote again that he has some exciting news to share about CCSVI and his MS journey. Of course we are left to wonder did he get...

What are sticky's? I see that word here on the main page and don't know what it means? Do you have any ideas on where we could set up a site like you suggested. I know I can start a FB group, but I don't think the ability to separate it out by doctor's name is possible, within one FB group? Any ideas?

Travel/hotel partner from FL to NY 4 Dr. Sclafani seminar?

Hi, As many may know, Dr. Sclafani is doing a symposium in mid July, and one of the days is devoted to a discussion geared to patients with MS/CCSVI. I live in the Miami area and am wondering if another female (I am a female) who is interested in this seminar would be interested in sharing a hotel r...

Come to think oif it, there is already a page on this site with testimonials in a formatted manner, but it doesn't seem there are any or many testimonials for this year (2011) and also the testimonials are not in chronological order and are kind of hard to read through. I could try creating a new to...

CodeFellow, I would love to see something like you mentioned--a site where patients can name their doctor, whether they had improvements and if so what, whether they had complicaitons, how long has it been since their treatment and did they restenose, did their doc use any special procedures and wha...

Thanks Munchkin, I hope your follow up goes well and thanks for your words of wisdom. I don't feel so much of a rush to get CCSVI now, I may take a little more of a watch and wait approach for now--I realize it may cost me more financially as by that time my insurance likely won't cover, but I can't...
