Sorry folks but I forgot to add this to my thread and when I saw that Debbie is changing over it prompted me to add it!!!: 22nd December I have changed the Roxythromicin to Rifampicin. This is because my GP refused to prescribe Roxythromicin. I now have all of my antibiotics via NHS prescription. Th...

I wasn't criticizing you Flora. It's the study that I'm sceptical of, but you're right it may be a little part of the puzzle. I have to say though that I agree with Bromley's post. MacGyver please don't patronize me, it was only a quip, I know that the chance is only decreased if you were born in No...

This is an absolutely ridiculous study. Firstly, you can manipulate statistics to prove anything and secondly I was born in November and I've got MS.

Larry, Thanks for that, it's really helpful to know a bit more about what you are doing to self-help. I certainly have become a prolific list writer since having MS so the Franklin Time Planner could be for me! :D It's a shame because I used to have an excellent memory and my husband would rely on m...

Hi Larry

I've no idea what you mean by Franklin Time Management or the Dr Wayne Dyer books. Can you explain a little more fully for those of us who are not familiar with these?

Thank you,

Jill I think that what you are suffering with the sharp pains in the head is more likely to be trigeminal neuralgia. We have three major nerves in the head area and you may be suffering pain in conjunction with one of these nerves. I suffered quite badly with this for a few weeks and was forced to t...

pregnancy often causes women's symptoms to go into remission, and ordinarily in the months following the baby's birth, the mother has a serious relapse. It is believed to be related to the role that pregnancy has in supressing a mother's immune system (so she won't reject the baby and miscarry) Hi ...

I found a lady saying that she looked upon her MS as a gift from God - enough to put anyone off, I would have thought, never mind a died in the wool atheist Yeah, I've never really understood that way of looking upon MS. I am me and I just so happen to have MS. I certainly wouldn't want someone dec...

Sarah I hope you don't mind me adding to your post but this is a question that I want to ask you directly. Having spent 18 months of my life coming to terms with the fact that I have a progressive disease and all the mental torture that entails, I'm interested to know how you view your health and si...

Hi Debbie You really don't have anything to be worried about, David is a lovely man who genuinely cares about patients' suffering. He sweetly said to me that he didn't care about charging, it was just so wonderful to see his wife getting better. (His wife, by the way, isn't as far away as you might ...

Yes, Sarah we are a funny lot those of us who have euphoria. I was going to say 'suffer' from euphoria but I don't think that it is us that suffer!!!! Just a quick adage to my thread: This morning I woke up and did my usual morning stretch before getting out of bed. Usually my legs go into spasm but...

I've started my second week on the antibiotics and I thought it was time that I gave an update: Although I still have pins and needles in my feet and right thumb, I have lost the numbness. For example, I can now feel the texture of the carpet under my feet. I'm still suffering with fatigue, it hasn'...

Bromley Everyone reacts to the dx of MS differently. I reacted very similarly to the way you have. It took me quite a few months to work it through. I was very frightened of what the future might bring, I had a need for information but at the same time it scared me. I now believe that it is better t...

Raven You must be feeling on top of the world if you've just joined a gym! I have never stopped exercising (except for my little interlude for a relapse last winter!). I guess you just have to exercise when it's right for you and push yourself as far as you feel you are able to. You will pret...

Why did you guys ignore my posting? Pharma companies are not charitable organisations they want to make profits! Desipramine, Minocycline, Naltrexone, these are all drugs that are off patent. Why would a drug company want to carry out an expensive trial on a drug that was off patent and therefore ve...
