I felt like the steroids helped my attack even 4 months into the thing (way to late according to some?), but the symptoms are still coming back slightly as I ween off the steroids. One terrible thing - I had been taking my steroids at night and despite having the AC cranked, I was having trouble sle...

I am seeing Dr. McCoyd at Loyola. I have been pretty impressed by him and his nurse is apparently some heavy hitter in the MS scene (at conferences in europe all the time) so that will help me getting fast tracked with Gilenya or something.

When I have been explaining MS to people, there are a few things I have been doing. While I realize that MS can be very serious potentially, I try to downplay the severity - I want everyone to know that I am a normal dude who sometimes gets real numb or cant walk real good. I'm still me, ya know? So...

What is your response to Prednisone steroid like?

Hi all - so part of being diagnosed with MS last week was getting a prescription for a bunch of Prednisone Steroid pills. Basically, my doctor has me on 1000MG a day for 5 days than tapering off for a few weeks. I just took my 4th 1000MG dose this evening. I am curious how these steroids affect othe...

Go ahead and get an MRI and make sure they check for lesions. Blurriness and other eye issues are one of the most common initial signs of MS. I was diagnosed with MS 2 days ago but I had a blurry eye "clinical event" a few years ago that had a lesion on the MRI that apparently no one caught.

New guy with MS here

Hi All - my name is Eric, I am a 28 year old male in Chicago who was diagnosed yesterday with MS. I googled up this forum and all of the information is really great. Here is my real quick backstory - When I was about 19 or 20, half of my body (the right half) went numb for about a month. It didn't a...
