There's another labelled azygos vein lower down, what is that about? Is it the hemiazygos? Or is still the azygos? According to Netter's Atlas, the arch of the azygos is about 2 vertebrae above the accessory hemiazygous, and about 3.5 above the hemiazygos. I think I can make out about 4 vertebrae b...

Re: Patient day
i know dr ludgya. I liked him. But this is too much. I am incredulous about this. Just a thought, Doc... might be one of his groupies, or someone on his staff. I've never heard of him, so I'm not defending irresponsible actions. But someone once sent out an obnoxious email from my desk computer, an...

Do you know if this phasic azygous for sure has reflux? This would have been seen on the venograms. I am so out of my league here... but I thought that reflux was only a concern in veins that were proximal to brain matter (DCV's) and spinal cord (lumbar and vertebrals). Reflux in azygous may propag...

this is ironic DrSclafani answers some questions asks for some questions and no one is there. Dr. Sclafani, I assumed your target audience were those that would be present at the symposium. I have many questions for them, but unfortunately, I will not be able to attend. I would like to know: 1. sho...

Dr. Sclafani, I have a few questions, but before getting to them, I want to express, not just my appreciation for you, but WHY I appreciate you so much. In any normal environment, I only get to speak with my doctor when I have an appointment. If I am properly prepared, I can usually get my most pert...

The more i treat this, the more I believe that i am not treating MS at all, but most of the time treating ccsvi. and this is a belief, not a truth. Dear Dr. Sclafani, Please clarify... do you mean to imply that there is mutual exclusion? Isn't it possible that CCSVI is causative for symptoms that c...

The following is simply a brainstorm, not a suggestion. I have not researched the risk, cost, or feasiblity of any of this. But I wonder... If your IJV blockage is accessible via neck dissection, would an IJV bypass be an option? Whereas the risk associated with invasive bypass operations is probabl...

Dr. Sclafani, I am fascinated by the categorization of CCSVI by location of blockage. While nobody wants to have any of the types, type D (multi-level azygous and lumbar blockages) seems to be heavily correlated with PP (and thus, the diagnosis one would least want to receive). 1. Has this associati...

Thank you so much for such an excellent and detailed answer. I can't get that kind of detail out of doctors that I pay.drsclafani wrote:the basic playbook keeps being enhanced.
You are very special, and greatly appreciated. Lorna and I are looking forward to meeting you in July (the 11th and 12th, I think/hope).

First of all, does anybody know of a 501(c)(3) out there with a mission statement related to advocating for CCSVI coverage (with or without MS)? If so, we all need to know about them and support them. If not, it needs to be incorporated. Second, does anybody know if the MS Society has an active role...
