Recovery

I got better very slowly, but noticably. It has been four years now and I wished I had started them about six years earlier to avoid the misery I endured. It is a lot more fun to going uphill than down. Hopefully, it will work for you. I am not sure they work for everyone, but it is worth a run. I d...

My doctor said it was strongest (Lipitor). The article on the mice stated that too.

statins

I use Zocor as Lipitor is considered much stronger. I am saving that one if Zocor would ever seem to be failing. It isn't, so I won't be switching any time soon. I really like what it has done toward improving my life. I got back to normal, with the exception of some nerve damage, but it really feel...

You already have some brain damage if you have had MS over ten years according to the 'experts'. Brain atrophy occurs over time. If you think the statins increase your risk, you should read what the recognized therapies will do for you. What treatments one selects has to be balanced with the side ef...

Statin Use

Don't want to use your bod for a test tube? The disease is doing just that. I found the higher the dose, the better the results. I have used them for four years now with outstanding results. I am in remission now after ten years of misery. I got my life back, my balance and strengh in my legs. You m...

statin research

I have used them for four years and they work if you can tolerate the statin drugs (most can, some cannot). I am in remission this year after ten years of continuous disease activity. I use Zocor, but Lipitor is stronger and may work better. Aside from having exceptional cholesterol results, my MS h...

Difference in Statins

I have taken them over a period of three and half years. For me, they worked miracles as a lot of my MS paralysis disappeared. I do not even have the nerve spasms anymore. I hope you all have equal results.
Good Luck!

Difference in Statins

I started with Lovastatin and then moved on to Zocor. Lipitor is the most potent from what my doctor prescibed. I don't plan to switch as I am having good results with Zocor.

statins

I use Zocor. I just passed my first anniversary 3/31 without an attack for a full year. I also take a mineral vitamin twice a day, two anti-oxidants, ferulic acid and curcumin (extract of tumeric). The anti-oxidants got rid of my nervous system inflammation around the first of November. I feel great...

I have used 80mg of Zocor daily for past 2 1/2 years. I will not ever stop it as long as I have MS. Doesn't stop attacks, but I have not incurred any additional disability from the attacks.

Antibiotics

I know there are drugs which will help one overcome MS. I use statins and antioxidants. I am always fearful of antibiotics since they do turn up my immune system which aggravates my nervous system. I too had a long run (ten years) before the MS became aggressive. The next five years were not any fun...

Antibiotics

This is my second round of antibiotics. I am sure it is the antibiotics. I am not running a fever like during the first round. I just have congestion and want to make sure my sinus infection doesn't return. I still wonder how antibiotics fire up one's immune system, which aggravates one's nervous sy...

antibiotics

I am a little puzzled that antibiotics help your MS. I use statins, Copaxone and antioxidants for my treatment. I am currently using antibiotics for a sinus infection and I can tell my immune system kicked up and then my nervous system. I have eleven days of torture to go to kill my sinus infection ...

Statins

I started two and a half years ago and they have given me my life back. They don't stop attacks, but I have not incurred any additional damage. I recovered feeling and mobility with my legs. I don't get the fatigue any more. I use 80mg of Zocor and plan to continue indefinitely

Neurologist

Pick one that will work with you. I had a Kaiser doc for five years. He told me early on that he would work with me on any drug therapy that showed promise. I now have a female neuro. She works with me. (my company dropped my Kaiser coverage) I was his first patient that he put on statins, at my ins...
