Re: Anyone taking 4-aminopyridine?
I was prescribed 10mg caps of 4-AP and took those 10 mg caps twice for one day. I ended up with horrible shaking each time I took them that day and was totally freaked out. So I forgot about it for the summer where it was was too hot to contemplate anything like this but once the weather cools I'm g...

Re: My colonoscopy cancelled in BC because I have MS
Well, I guess if you rattle enough cages and make enough noise, you can get listened to...suffice it to say I'm one squeaky wheel and the "squeaks" caught somebody's attention. I am scheduled for a colonoscopy with an info call this Thursday, an information meeting to attend in the next da...

Re: My colonoscopy cancelled in BC because I have MS
I have contacted the local MLA who wants to wait for the outcome to the health authority complaint board before she gets involved and as well I've talked to my neuro who is incensed and looking into why this ever happened in the 1st place. Also am calling MS & Bowel Societies. Thanks for the inp...

Re: My colonoscopy cancelled in BC because I have MS
Have looked in to the virtual colonoscopy and the problem is if there are polyps I'd have to back for a regular one (which at this point I'm not eleigible for) -catch 22 and as well the virtual isn't a accurate. As it is the reason `i''ve been given for not being eligible for one here is that `i hav...

Re: My colonoscopy cancelled in BC because I have MS
Nope - our hospitals are the only choice here in Canada. Other than the odd private clinic of which there was one in this city but no more. I've got to fight my way through this by going through public health care channels, talking to some politicians and possibly even the media. If this the usual w...

My colonoscopy cancelled in BC because I have MS
Here's my situation for which I'm pursuing a solution - tell me what you think. In the middle of December 2014 I was turned down by VIHA (our local health authority in Victoria BC) for a colonoscopy because I have MS with bladder, mobility and spasticity issues which I was told cannot be dealt wit...

Re: Experiences with Low Dose Naltrexone
I started at 1.5 mg about 3 weeks ago and have just increased to 3 mg. Bladder urgency has gotten way better to the point that it isn't even an issue anymore and I've had an increase in energy, and somewhat better balance. I have noticed a small increase in leg spasticity in the mornings but stretch...

Re: what convinced your doc to prescribe you LDN?
So, I took my 1st dose (1.5 mg) of LDN last night and slept like a log. Stiffness in my legs is much the same but now I'll be keeping track of it . I'll post any major changes - if and when then happen, Here's hoping there'll be some good changes!

Re: what convinced your doc to prescribe you LDN?
I didn't really have to do much other than ask him. He spoke to me of side effects at higher dosages in order to allow me to give an informed consent. I also told him that with my SPMS that there is really no other treatment option and him being very compassionate gave me a prescription. I'm startin...

A while ago I read somewhere that the hypertension drug Captopril helped - wonder if it's the one.

Re: Using Medical Marijuana
This stuff really works for me Marihuana Infused Oil Recipe (from http://mmchelp.ca/recipe_list.html) Makes about 1 litre of infused oil. During the cooking and straining process you can loose approximately 1/4 to 1/2 cup of oil. What you need to make marihuana infused oil Heavy duty pot with lid or...

Yes, isn't that the truth! "Listening skills" something that aren't taught properly in medical school, whereas, I think they should be a course all of their own.HappyPoet wrote: Seems too many doctors don't listen--actually listen--to their patients.
