Re: my MS got me checked into the ER last night
euphoniaa: Thank you for your warm support! As part of my symptoms I get this weird feeling on my feet (like they are being twisted or getting numb or something). It's not a big deal, just a feeling I have sometimes to cope with, you know. Furthermore, I feel like putting my feet through a kitchen m...

Re: Scared, worried, frantic, desperate to talk to someone!
Welcome, kizzydane !
TIMS will offer you a lot of support indeed.
Meanwhile, have you considered taking a week or two vacation from work? It might help you a lot in dealing what you've been going through at the moment.
Just a thought.
Stay calm

my MS got me checked into the ER last night
Ok, here is my story: I got checked into the ER’s trauma center last night. Dx: fracture of the foot’s base of the fifth metatarsal bone. About ten days ago or so I remember twisting my ankle on my right foot. Well, as one of my MS symptoms is the strange feeling I get sometimes on both my feet ankl...

Re: Ughh horrible
katcupcake91: I am so much with you. I've been on Avonex for more than 7 years now and I have one dream - to quit it one day. Taking a shot once a week makes me sick the day after - everyone around me knows that it would be better not to deal with me the day after the shot. On another hand, I think ...

Re: MS Symptoms???
Scat89, it was in 2004 in Ukraine and blood test was done primarily to supplement the MRI scans results. I remember looking at one sheet of paper that came back from the lab and if it say had 40 positions measured against, than probably at least one third of them was off the limits. Which probably g...

Re: MRI's
Few days ago I paid $320 out of pocket (no insurance here in Ukraine) for MRI on: - brain, with and without contrast - neck, with and without contrast - spine, with and without contrast I guess it's pretty much a killer deal comparing to what I paid back in the US being covered by Blue Cross Blue Sh...

Re: MS Symptoms???
Dear Scat89: I got an optical neuritis (OS) when I was 19 in 1999. Urgent therapy and few days spent in a hospital helped to get away my symptoms and I gained about 90% of the vision back on my left eye. That was really cool given the fact that I could identify the 20 lbs watermelon laying on a kitc...

Re: Side effects?
I've been on Avonex for 8 years now. I take my shot before bedtime on Sat. Right before a shot a take ibuprofen 200mg, 2 pills and that's it. I have been taking ibuprofen for quite some time now since I quit taking tylenol long time ago. Plenty of water and peeing comes along the next day. I am 31 a...

Re: Hi All!
Hi Jen, a lot of decision which med is "helping" can be made based on MRI scans after being on certain drug for a while. I been on Avonex for almost 8 years now, and some 6 years ago got only one lesion in my brain. Side effects are pretty manageable for me, mostly it's depression. Good lu...
