CCSVI

Very interesting! I would like to know if the cause(s) of the blockages are known. Is it due to the anatomy of the veins? due to deposits or build up of plaques? associated with cholesterol? blood clots? Does exercise increase the risk of veinous back flow and MS relapses? What is the average age of...

Yoga

Hi all, I thought I would share with the group a yoga site I was made aware of. It is called yogatoday.com. It is free, and it presents a new yoga practice every day. I have it set so that the new practice is downloaded on my computer daily. Every week you receive the program description with the le...

Another unknown aspect of statin treatment for MS is the dose. I believe the dose used in current trials is 80 mg. This is a very high dose, with potential side effects. It would be interesting to know if it works at lower doses. Any of these papers discussed the dose/effect?

I have been following the discussions on LDN and it seems to me that LDN works in stopping the progression of MS. Several of the strong proponents for LDN have experienced a decrease or complete stop on the progression of the disease. I assume they are PP or SP.

List of current drug trials

I saw this list on another MS board forum. I am sorry if this is a repeat. It was first available in September, therefore, they are probably new drugs to be added. The credit for putting this list together should go to Jay. "MS Disease-Modifying Meds" ( Approved Meds ) 1. Avonex (interfero...

How long after the cold/flu do you get a relapse? By relapse I mean new signs. I have been told by my neurologist that a cold/flu may increase (in intensity) existing signs but not produce new signs. I was interested by comments that people with MS rarely get colds/flu; perhaps these are inaccurate ...

MS and Colds

Recently I read few posts suggesting that people with MS are less susceptible to regular colds. The hypothesis was that a hyper-active immune system associated with MS is protective against regular colds. Is this a myth or a fact? Some of these messages further suggested that the return of cold symp...

Hi BlueJay,

How long have you been on LDN and at what dose? Do you feel LDN has slowed the progression of MS.
