Re: Which are the safest (and least safe) MS drugs on the ma

If you want to get better from any disease you must stop MD treatment and do what works. Chemo, radiation, and surgery do not work. The cancer will continue to come back if you do not change the environment of the body. This is done with diet, exercise, sleep and prayer and meditation. It works for...

Re: Generics, 40 mg. Copaxone and Teva

While my neuro has discussed it, and Shared Solutions has called about it, I wouldn't say I've felt pressured to switch to 3x/week. I'm quite sure that anything other than every day would cause me to miss shots. I haven't heard anything from Cygna, but I plan to switch to a generic soon after they b...

Shouldn't they, if daily works just as well and (eventually) costs less? Personally, I'm looking forward to that.

Doesn't mean a thing if they won't tell you the details of their "proprietary algorithmic scoring model"

Re: Heavy metal toxicity and MS

I haven't had any testing, but since my 1st sx a couple of my doctors (including my neuro) have thought they might be a result of the chemotherapy I had back in 1996. I had cisplatin and carboplatin, which are both platinum-based and known to cause nerve damage, but my neuro sx didn't start until ov...

Re: Newly diagnosed today

Anyway, now I'm trying to figure out which of four DMDs to start...Copaxone, Refib, Betaseron, or Avonex. Any thoughts or experiences? You can listen to the conspiracy theorists and the like, or you can take a chance on the best modern medicine currently has to offer. Unfortunately (in terms of qua...

Re: one bad news after another - a few more questions

So my question is - why do I feel ok? Like I said in a previous post, apart from slight libido issues I am walking, talking and thinking clearly, working and all. I know that the number of lesions does not necessarily correspond with disability, but you would think that an obviously half-dead brain ...

Re: Still not accepting dx

It might be MS, but they couldn't tell you that from a CAT scan. I would seek a second opinion at the nearest MS-specific clinic.

That's pretty scary news, Jordana, but don't let yourself get ahead of the data. I already have an MS diagnosis, and assumed it was ON when I lost the right half of my vision (both eyes). The ophthalmologist said no, and it turned out to be a pretty minor stroke (and my vision almost completely reco...

Actually, that's 100% wrong. Spinal tap results are not considered definitive for MS diagnosis, just 'supporting evidence"...

Re: Officially diagnosed, I think

1/2. I have no idea why you haven't been officially diagnosed as having MS, and really no one can answer that but your neuro. Have you asked? If/when your neuro does say you have RRMS (as opposed to PPMS), it would be *extremely* unusual for them to fail to offer a DMD. 3. Your brain atrophy might h...

Re: relapses

MS relapses can occur as often as a few times per year or as rarely as every 15 years. No one can predict the course of MS for a specific individual. If you think you have reasons to suspect MS, you should discuss it with your PCP and get a referral to a neurologist. The live ones are generally much...
