Re: Thinking About Going Off Copaxone

Joe, yes I was/am pinching. Just don't seem to have enough body fat. Incidently, I went off the copaxone for 6 days. Within 4 I had lost some language function, my hands felt like they had rubber bands around the wrists, my stomach was itchy, and I was so exhausted at the end of the day I was in bed...

Re: Dx 8.28.11 Now Stepping Out To Explore/Learn

Hi Dave, Yes we are in a small club. Not one I want to be in either. :( My brother and I live 2K miles apart, but plan on visiting more regularly and without our significant others so we can lean on one another for support. Incidently, I went of the copaxone for 6 days. Within 4 I had lost some lang...

Re: Copaxone and the Common Cold

LR1234: Actually, my neurologist and Shared Solutions didn't think I should go off the Copaxone for my surgery. Meredith: My husband recommended I start a protein drink regimen as a supplement. So far, I have found a rice based protein shake that is gluten free. Still need to read more about it to s...

Re: Thinking About Going Off Copaxone

As of yesterday, I have decided to go off the copaxone. My brother and I are going to work on a plan to work together based on the research we've both done.

No whiplash years ago, just when walking my dog in 2006 and after a car accident 12.09. MRI Impression 6.15.11 1. There is a 9 mm expansile lesion within the spinal cord at the level of C3 as well as a less well-defined 5 mm lesion within the spinal cord at the level of C1. Multiple white matter les...

Re: Dx 8.28.11 Now Stepping Out To Explore/Learn

My neurologist wasn't all warm and tingly about my request to be tested for infections, tick-borne diseases, and pretty much scared me into copaxone. My brother and I were born and raised in MA, so tick-borne disease is a concern. We lived in the woods and were bitten by ticks all the time. We both ...

Re: Dx 8.28.11 Now Stepping Out To Explore/Learn

I was walking my dog (Great Dane) on a flexi lead with flip flops on walking down a hill with dew on the grass. A deer jumped up in front of us and he took off. It all happened so quick, by the time he hit the end of the lead he (180 lbs) was running full speed. My feet went straight in the air and ...

Re: Knowledge is the key right?

I'm posting this, not to be argumentative, but because I'd really like others insight/experience. My last exacerbation was during the most healthy time in my life that I've ever had. I was training for a marathon, practicing yoga and meditation daily, and eating a very healthy diet (gluten free, sug...

Copaxone and the Common Cold

Has anyone had their ISRs worsen when a cold was coming on? I had foot surgery on 12.9.11, followed by a cold that lasted 3 weeks. In all 6 weeks of "recovery." My ISRs worsened during that time. To the point last week, the IS were hard, red, inflamed, and up to 3" in diameter for 2-3...

Re: Dx 8.28.11 Now Stepping Out To Explore/Learn

Thanks for the welcome civickiller.

I did have chelation therapy after the amalgam removal.

I did have a head trauma just before my first exacerbation. However, the MS specialist I saw said the plaque on my brain was not indicative of a head trauma. I'm curious... your thoughts?

Re: Thinking About Going Off Copaxone

I've decided to think about my options some more. Ironically, the last two shots I gave myself weren't as bad as they've been. I guess I kind of got a second wind to keep trying. Hoping this weeks injections aren't as bad as last weeks...

Dx 8.28.11 Now Stepping Out To Explore/Learn

Hi! My name is Jessica, my MS Stats are below. I'm actually "new to me" researching related to MS, as my brother was first Dx with MS 10 years ago but refused to accept the Dx and instead has been Tx with chronic lymes disease. That changed about the same time as my 2nd exacerbation, over ...
