steroids

I did 11 months of the high dose steroids ( 1000mg IV Solu-Medrol & 1200mg Prednisone ) last year. Then did 1 dose of Tysabri in February of this year. Regarding the steroids, I think the whole thing was bizare to be on it for that long. I have never heard or read of a similar situation. The who...

It seems to me that the real trial doesn't start until tysabri is out in the market and we the MS'rs as a whole give our feedback on the treatment. I mean really......... does it really matter which dr. says what? It all comes down to us and what we say. My neuro treats the disease, not me as a pers...

I take minocicline and guess what............ my lesions have finaly calmed down for the first time in at least 2 1/2 years. Do have 3 new ones though. I got it prescribed by my general Dr. for acne due to prednisone. So was it the prednisone ( 1200mg ) once a month or the Beteseron or possibly the ...

Conjecture and intuition. Add a business sence to that and you can see a bigger picture. Will Antegren help? Sure! It will help some people but not everybody. That's a fact. The question I have is at what cost? I'm not referring to the financial aspect but the quality of life. With all the side effe...

I personaly beleive my MS comes from years of working in the auto repair business. I was exposed daily to exhaust, solvants, paints, dry cleaning chemicals, etc. The building was built in the 20's or 30's and was a gas station for many many years. although the tanks were removed before we set up sho...

I respect your interpretation. I don't care who finds the cure as long as it is found. At least by the next generation of people suffering from this disease. It's been around long enough to at least find a cause one would think. Possibly answers would come from some of these numerous clinical trials...

I had all those same symtoms, too. Neuro sent me for the Neuropsych exam to see how the heavy lesion load was affecting me cognitively. Plus I'm filing for SSD. The psych doctor said I was normal and intelligent but I'm depressed and have anxiety. Well, duh! Who wouldn't? I don't feel that I'm depre...

I found your post very positive and uplifting! Although I have nothing to add about new treatments. Your post made me feal good. You're right, this is our MS. None of us are alone. We're in it together! By continuing to share information we can find out new ideas that might bring us comfort.

I agree about the bottom line theory. If any of you watch the stock market Biogen Idec stocks have steadily increased since January. Elan's aren't looking so great but didn't they file bankruptcy or was it that they sold the rights to Biogen to try to keep their company afloat? So much hype about it...

Lyrica

It's my understanding that Lyrica is to take the place of Neurontin. I read an article recently saying that the drug co. was in trouble for marketing perks. They were fined alot of money. It just goes to show, always question your Dr. about why they are recomending that particular drug, whatever it ...

cost?

Wow! I had no idea it cost that much but I'm not surprised. My neuro says that I need this drug NOW! So I'm just playing the waiting game trying to put off Novantrone. I just hope it works. Didn't we just go thru a bunch of hype with Rebif? It was supposed to be sooo much better! It didn't work for ...

Hi, Jennifer and thank you for replying! I have the same problem with welts and bruising. I'll definitly check into the pills you're suggesting. I'm curious to know exactly what they are. The welts and bruises are hideous! It's embarrasing to where shorts out in public! Personaly, I'm waiting for An...
