Alcohol as a muscle relaxer?

I had gotten pretty irritated with my ms a few months ago and really just wanted a break from it all. I was watching a video on Youtube where a girl talked about how she drank occasionally and usually didn't suffer any ill effects. So I figured wth, 4 - 6 hours of not worrying about this crap would ...

The Mountain

This video helps to put things in perspective for me when I watch it. I think of all the people that are gone that have had similar hopes, dreams and fears as me. Even thousands of years ago. That they also looked up at the same night sky. Helps if you've indulged in your "stash" first. lo...

Re: I can't get warm

I read somewhere (on here i think) that garlic seemed to really warm ones legs up. Seems to a little when I eat it. And I do quite a bit. Believe someone warned against it as it bolstered the immune system but doesn't appear to flare me up to any degree. worth a try

The E-E monster

This is an older story, but my girlfriends little boy said something today that reminded me of it. Back when my kid was about 4 (he's nine now) I was tucking him in my bed and told him I'd be back in to lay down with him in a little while. He tells me that he's too scared to fall asleep without me i...

Re: Using Medical Marijuana

Marijuana caused my last and worst exacerbation to date. I believe it pushed me over the edge from rr to progressive. Of course, this wasn't medical grade. It was Mexican grade. Hard to say what it may or may not have been crop dusted with though. I sooo miss it. *sniff*

Re: PLEASEHELP,Do I have MS?

sugar and just about all fruit light me up. leg pain, muscle stiffness, eye problems, dizziness. oddly though bananas seem ok. i also seem to get away with eating kettle brand sea salt chips. lol. but not lays. maybe the different oils they use. it's hard at first to omit all the things you've been ...

Re: PLEASEHELP,Do I have MS?

Ms can really mess with your bowels, but then so can stress. If it were me I think I'd hedge my bets and forgo the licorice and diet drinks.

Re: PLEASEHELP,Do I have MS?

Here's a link you may have come across already with a google search: http://www.healthboards.com/boards/headaches-migraines/128319-hemiplegic-migraines.html Check out the fourth post by mariesi about the thyroid. Like the others have said it could be a number of things giving you these symptoms. The...

Re: PLEASEHELP,Do I have MS?

Hang in there Melissa. I know it's hard to stay calm. If it is ms one thing I would suggest you do is to start to limit your diet right now. Won't hurt it and it could very well help. It did for me. I'm down to eating chicken breast, fish, green vegetables, almonds, and water. My symptoms started to...

Re: PLEASEHELP,Do I have MS?

Just wanted to add (since I know you're really wanting answers) that your inability to recognize left from right could be just stress (stress can really do a number on you) or the typical confusion associated with ms. For me that type of confusion typically goes along with a really bad bout of fatig...

Re: PLEASEHELP,Do I have MS?

If it were me I'd press my doctor for more tests and possibly a referral to a neurologist. (if he's not) One thing you have to consider is that we're usually not related to our doctors and if the truth was known most of them really don't give a crap. I've been through about six myself. It can be ver...

Re: PLEASEHELP,Do I have MS?

Hi Melissa. I can't speak as to whether or not you have ms, as I'm fairly new to this myself, but there seems to be a lot of knowledgeable people on the forum. Hopefully someone will address your question shortly. I can though totally relate to your anxiety and the feeling of being alone. I've had t...
