Re: The role of NADPH oxidase in MS & its inhibition with ap

thanks for the article scott1 It is interesting that acetosyringone is even more potent. Unfortunately, it has low water solubiity, so a tincture or oil solution may be necessary. Perhaps dissolving it in fish oil before encapsulating it would produce an ideal remedy for MS, by inhibiting NADPH oxid...

The role of NADPH oxidase in MS & its inhibition with apocyn

Sorry, the last substance is called apocynin, but the last letters were eliminated because they exceeded capacity in the title. NADPH oxidase is the enzyme that the immune system uses to generate super oxide (O2-), which reacts with NO to make ONOO-, a powerful oxidant used to eliminate bacteria, et...

Re: Sleep apnea is very common and underdiagnosed

I would like to mention that the few cases of people with both gout and MS (which are usually mutually exclusive) often display SA, whose hypoxia, impaired circulation, damaged tissue, etc, contribute to both diseases.

Sleep apnea is very common and underdiagnosed

Sleep apnea is a grossly underdiagnosed condition that can exacerbate the neuron damage, fatigue, irritability, impaired memory, etc, of MS. Although its incidence increases with age, excess weight, male sex, smoking, diabetes, etc, it can affect people of all ages and both sexes. It also damages se...

Re: Female MS the Antithesis of Gout

Hi Bethr, Iron can cause joint pain by other mechanisms besides hyperuricemia, so its no wonder than you feel better. Did your doctor ever consider Mc Leod's syndrome because of the acanthocytes, etc,? It usually presents with hemolytic anemia, but since you don't have a spleen, this may have preven...

Re: Female MS the Antithesis of Gout

¿So apparently you develped MS before gout? It would be more useful to have your medical history than a few isolated bits that don't make much sense. It may not even be gout, but pseudogout (Ca pyrophosphate crystals), etc, The only way to diagnose gout with certaintly is to extract fluid from the j...

Re: Female MS the Antithesis of Gout

Another way in which excess copper in young women can contribute to MS is through histapenia (histamine below 44 mg/l). Cu causes histapenia by directly binding to histamine and by accelerating histamine elimination through the copper enzyme diamine oxidase. Histamine is made from histidine, an esse...

Re: Help in interpreting some blood work results

Zn in high doses blocks Cu absorption, so even if you take Cu it won´t be absorbed.
Everything in excess is toxic, even water.

Re: New and Looking for Answers

getting back to your blood test. 1) They probably also analyzed your potassium, which you didn't provide and we need also a cytometry. Is that total, direct or indirect bilirubin? 2) A fact that doctors seem or choose to ignore: Hydration varies considerably, so it is better to use ratios than absol...

Re: Help in interpreting some blood work results

1) Ca antagonizes Mg, while Mg boosts Ca retention and vit D inreases Ca absorption, so I would not take Ca supplements if I were taking Mg and vit D, lest Ca rise dangerously and negate the benefits of Mg supplementation. I would analyze Ca and try to keep it within the ideal range of 8.7 to 9.3 an...

Re: Female MS the Antithesis of Gout

Hormone receptors are an often neglected aspect of formone function. Vit D is a steroidal hormone that binds to the same receptors as estrogen, TH and other hormones, so that if the other hormones are high and vit D is low, the deficiency will be exacerbated by displacing vit D from the receptors. M...

Re: New and Looking for Answers

You're welcome. In my humble opinion, IV B12 is required only if you have pernicious anemia and even then, not weekly for 2 months. That is a huge amount of B12, especially if you are not receiving folic acid along with it (they complement and displace each other, so they should be administered toge...

Re: New and Looking for Answers

It is not the amount of a nutrient in a given food that matters, but its absorbability. Coffee actualy increases Mg elimination (being a diuretic). It's like spinach, which are suggested as a good source of iron by mnay and which is completely false, since it has little iron and phytate, whcih inhib...

Re: New and Looking for Answers

It would help if you provided a many blood test results as possible, age, sex, etc, Magnesium is an extremely important mineral whcih is usually overlooked by physicians. Blood levels are irrelevant, since most of the Mg is in the tissues. It is easily lost when there is not enough vit D, lots of st...
