Re: Jimmylegs...too much vitamin d = ouch?

re the link, there are some concerns listed on that page, and a lot of page references are provided at the bottom. they could do a better job with in text citation. re not showing that bound ones were accessible - is the criticism that the research exists showing that they are released, but that it...

Re: Jimmylegs...too much vitamin d = ouch?

Regarding the oats mentioned earlier, the link posted was one sided and did not even consider any negative aspects of oats with a lot of unsubstantiated claims, regarding the antioxidants, re bound and unbound, it didn't show that the bound ones were even accessable, to me it read more like a hypoth...

Re: Some Interesting Connections

Thank you for the glowing endorsement, I did actually read your paper before commenting, but couldn't be bothered tracking it any further because they always end up in a beaurocratic blind alley. Not really much of a paper with only 7 references linked to support the assumptions. Just on the Alumini...

Re: Some Interesting Connections

Don't think your Acronyms of WHO & FDA are any more credible, maybe 50-100 years ago a govt organisation might carry some weight with regards to credibility, but nowdays with the mantra of privatisation and health outcomes being driven by profit margins I wouldn't take any comfort from what FDA ...

If you're talking Aluminium, don't forget all that flaking Teflon coating we all ingested through the 70's & 80's.

Re: Insulin--Could This Be the Key?

Not quite sure if you've got it all right or maybe just the way you have written it. Zonulin as I wrote elswhere is a human protein and part of normal endothelial function, it's just with some conditions like coeliac that there is an association with higher levels of Zonulin, this does not suggest i...

Re: Sleep, Glymphatic System and the Brain Flush

Also interested in peoples sleep patterns & experiences. I know sleep is a problem for many with MS, still need to go through old posts, but flicking around the net found this blog, just a short text on his sleep experiences: http://www.everydayhealth.com/columns/trevis-gleason-life-with-multipl...

Re: CCSVI RESEARCH here

This has already been covered up a bit already, Just thought I'd post up anyway, I was looking into the whole CCSVI thing to see how it related to my ideas and what basis there was, I never paid much due to it as a causal factor, it did not really seem to fit with what I knew of MS. The folowing stu...

Sleep, Glymphatic System and the Brain Flush

Came across this the other day in my travels, During Deep Sleep, SWS pattern, the brain cells shrink up to 60% activity levels slow right down, but blood flow is maintained and ATP levels in brain goes up, a large part of this action is to perform a cleaning process in the brain to flush out waste m...

Re: Vaccinations

Don't have any specific data on MS, but there is a lot of data out there which questions the value of vaccinations, that they may be causing more health issues than they solve and I suspect they do have a contributory role in rising allergy rates & autoimmune disease. Soy, shellfish, peanut alle...

Re: grain brain

There's some interesting peer-reviewed research on this topic, erin--being done by Dr. Alessio Fasano at the University of Maryland. I think avoiding gluten might be a good idea for pwMS. Zonulin is a protein in gluten , and it's a gatekeeper for the endothelium. Zonulin can signal the endothelium ...

Re: Paleo Diet discussion

I am aware that one study has found a higher incidence of celiac among people with MS. Other have failed to show this correlation. But I am still in need of solid evidence that one without gluten sensitivities should cut out whole grains. There is strong evidence that whole grains can lower risk of...

Re: Has Iran found a "cure" for MS?

Not specifically MS, but I do think parallels can be drawn. I recently found some studies using Antioxidant therapy in autoimmune thyroid disease and the results were quite significant in regards to symptomatic expression of ailments even though thyroid hormone levels remained unchanged. This sugges...

Re: GMO's linked to health problems?

I think it is a very relevant post, I've alwasy been suspect of the actual safety of Roundup, it's extremely pervasive as it is used both comercially and domestically, even if the effect is small the sheer quantity that is now in our environment is a major concern. I actually happened across the act...
