Re: Post if CCSVI treatment did NOT work for you
KLM My husband is Primary Progressive and we tried CCSVI with Dr Sclafani - given the lack of available options for your sister I would definitely say give it a go. My husbands experience was not all smooth sailing (I posted a detailed thread at the time July/Aug 2012), Dr Sclafani was amazing and a...

Re: Any one know why this is?
Hi Jam I noticed you are a NZers - how are you doing? Your situation sounds similar to that of my husband. Are you in Auckland - have you been to Rehab Plus? He found it incredibly helpful going there but it is only a temporary system of support and he has not been able to keep up the improvements s...

Re: DrSclafani answers some questions
My opinion is that this thread is fairly self managing in that when people veer into areas outside of your comfort zone you make that known and the conversation self-terminates. It is your thread and I think you should be able to govern the topics covered. I agree that some people are very well info...

Daflon 500
Hi Dr S
Do you have any thoughts on Daflon 500 - it is said to assist with chronic venous insufficiency and suggested to help alleviate "heavy legs"

I know you say you a not an MS Dr or expert in MS but gosh I wish you were, more Drs with your attitude, thirst for knowledge and appreciation of the challenges this disease brings is what we need. Like many of the participants on this board I believe it it a collection of ailments the conditions an...

Re: NY here we come.....
Well call us crazy but in October my husband went back to New York, this time on his own, for another round of treatment. Things were mildly successful for a few days in July but regressed and the arrangement with Dr S is that if this happens he will treat you again within 90 days for free. Work was...

Re: MS trial drug MIS416 gets global spotlight
This was on the news here the other night. http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news/christchurch-trial-paves-way-new-ms-treatment-5297796 It seems there are several people taking the drug after the trial because they don't want to go back to life before the drug. It is interesting to me because very few trea...

Re: DrSclafani answers some questions
I have a q. How do pradaxa and high dose fish oil cope together. I've been reading up on the Jelenik diet - good book but I have a long way to go. It reiterates the importance of Omega 3 but I heard that fish oil and warfrin don't like each other but it seems lots of precautions are needed with Warf...

Re: 6 months post-procedure
Love the new video but anyone seeing this for the first time should go back and watch your first ones, the music tugs on your heart strings and your mum's laughter is priceless. Your experience sealed the deal for us and we went to NY in July and my husband went back in October. He hasn't 'won the m...

Still here, still interested. My husband has now had 2 procedures, just waiting for him to come off the pradaxa again before I post an update.
Buckle down for the storm Dr S - stay safe.

For anyone wondering why it is so quiet around here Dr S is currently in China at a ccsvi conference of some kind I believe. I think he was going to be out of town for 2 weeks.

Re: Dr S on NZ TV
I don't speak for the Henderson's I have never met them or spoken to them myself but I fully believe they had realistic expectations going into this having spoken to the tv producers myself. There is nobody in NZ offering CCSVI. I presume their last visits were to Melbourne where you can no longer g...

Dr S on NZ TV
Hi Dr Sclafani Quite surreal tonight putting my husband on the plane to see you then coming home to watch you on tv. Nice work! To be honest the story wasn't particularly informative IMO but you were great. Not sure is people outside NZ will be able to access the video but just in case this is the l...

Re: DrSclafani answers some questions
Auckland Radiology did a scan on my husband a couple of weeks ago following instructions from Dr S. he provided in a letter when my husband was treated by Dr S. in July. Dr S. now has that report and last Thursday we posted him the CD of the scan. On Sunday my husband is heading back to NY for anoth...

Re: NY here we come.....
Now it's been 2 months. The Pradaxa is finished. He has been feeling pretty average and we are pretty sure the veins have re-stenosed as many of the initial improvements have subsided. Yesterday he went for a follow up ultrasound at home with instructions for the technicians from Dr Sclafani and our...
