Re: Tecfidera Recurrent Side-effects (after initial side-eff
I don't get stomach upset too much. Sometimes if I haven't had enough to eat I will get some lower GI stuff. The one thing that has stuck around for me is the flushing. The first dose of Tec was AWFUL flushing and since then it has gotten better. It seemed to get better to a point and now if I don't...

MS and Fertility treatments
I am at a point where I am considering a family but I have had issues with my cycles and the last time I saw my gyno we discussed my fertility. She seemed to think that I would be able to get pregnant with the help of fertility drugs. I have been reading quite a bit about how some fertility treatmen...

Re: **IMPORTANT** PML & Tecfidera
I am also JC+ and on Tec. I got blood drawn frequently the first 6 months on it and will now get it drawn at 6 month intervals. I think the risk of low blood counts is greatest in the beginning so I feel confident with the frequent monitoring that I received that I will be ok. The frequent draws gav...

Re: How similar are Tecfidera and Fumaderm?
I will be traveling about a year. I haven't talked with my doc yet. I'm not sure what she can suggest for meds since I won't have insurance coverage.

How similar are Tecfidera and Fumaderm?
I am asking because I have plans to do extensive traveling abroad and I am scratching my head as to how I might continue to take DMD's while I am gone. I would have to maintain an insurance policy stateside while I am gone to have it covered by insurance and that simply isn't possible. I do plan to ...

Re: Requesting accommodations at work
Syck, How did it go when you asked to work from home on Fridays? Did that come about as an accommodation or just something that went along with your position? I work in a nonprofit that provides intensive case management to clients who are at risk of being institutionalized or are currently institut...

Re: 120 mg or 240mg Tecfidera dose
The dosage was measured for effectiveness through drug trial studies. It's possible that another dose would also be beneficial, however, there are likely no studies available showing one way or the other. Therefore most likely your neurologist will probably tell you that you need to be on 240 mgs tw...

Requesting accommodations at work
Hi all, I have been contemplating asking for workplace accommodations for about a year now. Today it is on my mind because I called in sick to work because I had that heavy lead-filled body feeling. I get it frequently--once or twice a week and it's a real struggle to make it through the day when I ...

vaccinations
Given the recent hysteria in the news about vaccines it occurred to me that I should probably spend some time informing myself of which vaccines are appropriate for me to have. The NMSS gives very conflicting recommendations for vaccinations. My neuro told me to stay away from all live vaccines but ...

I was in tears yesterday because I hadn't heard of even one person who got a fast diagnosis without years of searching. Just to know one person like you had a possibly similar experience makes me feel less alone...My biggest worry was about accepting an MS diagnosis that seemed so out of nowhere, s...

Re: does it get worse before getting better
I have felt much better since starting Tec but that could also be because my compliance was pretty low while on the copaxone and I was probably having a lot of uncontrolled disease activity.

Re: Elevated Liver Numbers!
well, i didn't get a response to my question but i thought i would update the thread anyways since i have gotten labs drawn again. my numbers are back down to normal except for my ALT which remains about 10 points out of range. this could be because i stopped taking the aspirin or it could be from h...

Elevated Liver Numbers!
I've been on Tec for 4 weeks, 3 weeks at the standard dose and I've had a few mishaps with my labs. Initially, when I got labs to start the medication I had a borderline ANC of 1.8 which was concerning since Tec drops WBC counts. My neuro is being especially cautious and has ordered labs at 1,3, and...
