Re: MS Mice Walk Again – U of Utah
aw, shucks... I thought that the fact that this news was on a well-known science website (I assume I can't say which one, that would be advertising) actually meant something. Too bad. I guess we can at least hope it's a step in the right direction, that they at least found something new in the world...

Re: MS Mice Walk Again – U of Utah
I'm surprised this news is received so... indifferently. No comments. I was very excited when I read this yesterday and came here to share with everyone, but I see that you've done it already, lyndacarol, and I'm surprised nobody is listening. I think this is very good news, and I'm not the type tha...

Re: Would you agree to a DMD under these conditions?
Thank you jimmylegs. A lot of research ahead of me. But first an attempt to make the first step towards a DMD approval.

Re: Would you agree to a DMD under these conditions?
Hey jimmylegs, a very good discussion indeed, I've been reading it for some time (here and there as much as I can from my work), I've only reached page 25, 26. It makes sense that d3 alone is not sufficient, I'll definitely test your zinc theory. As for all the other vital ingredients of the human o...

Re: Would you agree to a DMD under these conditions?
Heheh, like I said, I always copy ( ctrl+C) the whole text before submitting or moving from the page. I've lost everything I'd written too many times. :) My regimen is 4000 i.u. per day for the last 6-7 months. Before that (before the diagnosis of MS, after the ON) it was 1000 i.u. per day. Now they...

Re: Would you agree to a DMD under these conditions?
jimmylegs - it will take some time to go through all of the literature you've put in my syllabus. :) Thank you. I'm especially curious as to the D3 vitamin. I've read what you said on many other places - that people with MS should maintain large doses of this vitamin in their blood (mine is only 37 ...

Re: the question I have been afraid to ask
You're right, jerrygallow, I didn't, but that's beside the point. When someone asks a concrete question(are spinal lesions normally found early in the MS disease process) and the only responses they get do not answer that question, then that person might avoid a site that is full of excellent inform...

Re: Would you agree to a DMD under these conditions?
Thank you all for your REALISTIC opinions, those are the ones that matter. Even before posting my question I had already pretty much made up my mind about starting with the therapy. Now I'm a step further in that direction. The only rediculous thing about my specific case is that I will have to &quo...

Re: the question I have been afraid to ask
Hi, youarethecure, I'm sorry none of the more down-to-Earth members of this forum decided to answer your question, Youarethecure. I could tell you my opinion, but being new to MS myself I'm not sure I can give you a correct answer. As you probably know, MS is an extremely versatile disease, but I'd ...

Re: Would you agree to a DMD under these conditions?
Thanks, want2bike, but I would still like to hear from someone who has taken one pf the DMDs, or at least smn with MS who is in a similar situation to mine.

Re: Would you agree to a DMD under these conditions?
I'm sorry I didn't respond earlier, I was away from my computer. DrGeoff, if you are reading this - you say that you wish you had started Copaxone earlier, and that it has reduced the number and severity of your relapses. Would you have started it even if you felt good and didn't have relapses even ...

Re: Would you agree to a DMD under these conditions?
Yes, I've also read on more places than one that there is little evidence that DMDs have any impact on disability. The only real reason to use them,it seems, is the reduction of relapses, as Kronk says. And,of course, the hope that in one's specific case they just might work miraculously... There is...

Re: Would you agree to a DMD under these conditions?
Thank you, Elliot, I think I will do pretty much the same. Only the diet part wil be loosely based on Swank, not completely. I like to eat.
I know a few more people doing good on Copaxone,I suppose the pros overweigh the cons after all.

Re: Would you agree to a DMD under these conditions?
I apologize for confusing you -- there was a better explanation of my situation on the lost post. Actually, I've had a long lifetime of weird, MS-type episodes -- possibly since childhood but definitely since carried to the ER at age 22. It's just that every single one of them could be due ...
