Re: Second Infusion two weeks away, I feel like death? Any o

We have a Nuero-degenerative disorder. We’re expected to get worse. Evidence is that Ocrevus slows our decline. I feel like crap and am walking worse in spite of no new damage on MRI. Been on O about a year. Second full infusion next week. Patients who saw improvement saw it about 6-24 months into t...

Re: Diet affects progression of autoimmune diseases

I've never agreed with those who tout coconut oil as acceptable (or beneficial) for those with MS. Roy Swank demonstrated that saturated fats lead to MS progression. He published dozens of articles on this topic during 50 years of research. Most of the fad MS diets have lots of nice theories with li...

Re: Swank-Wahls hybrid

From the McDougall article: "During his remarkable career Dr. Swank published dozens of studies in major medical journals showing that a low-fat diet would essentially stop the progression of MS. Unfortunately, his work never caused an impact on the practice of neurology, primarily because ther...

Re: Why is the Wahls diet making me much worse, is it possib

I don't think starchy veggies are out - they just don't count toward the 9 cups. Beets, carrots, and sweet potatoes would all be good additions. It sounds like you're malnourished, so that's not helping your energy levels.

Re: Swank-Wahls hybrid

I am reading Wahls book. She has lots of great theory but not a lot of hard evidence, which Swank has. Why does the Wahls protocol exclude eggs? Because she's allergic to them. Turns out they should be avoided because of their high saturated fat content but that isn't exactly a good basis for a prot...

Re: Ocrevus (Ocrelizumab) - clear doubts about safety

But I hope for something better to come up for us with ms, hopefully not immunosupressive, with good reasonably good efficacy Best wishes to you all C Cliff - your wish came true decades ago. Dr Roy Swank developed a diet / lifestyle that arrested progression of MS. He did over 50 years of research...

Swank-Wahls hybrid

Swank studied 200 patients for 34 years. Most of those who kept saturated fats below 15 grams per day were alive and walking after 34 years. Those who didn't were bedridden or dead. No drug or other lifestyle regimen can claim anything even close to this compelling. There are a lot of really good co...

Re: Suicide

I am also a 43 year old man with MS. I was diagnosed in 2003 and it does suck. It isn't a long slide into hell though. As we lose function we shift focus into other areas of our lives. Think of a wise old joyful person. They may be plagued by various pains and limitations but their focus shifts to c...

Re: Terrified

It's scary, but by no means a death sentence. I am also 43, was diagnosed at 29, and am still living a full life. Copaxone is my favorite DMD, but diet plays a bigger role than any pharmaceutical in controlling long term prognosis. Read the research of Dr Roy Swank ( http://www.swankmsdiet.org/ ) an...

Re: Thinking About Going Off Copaxone

I love Copaxone. Was on it from 2003 - 2013, switched to Tecfidera for ~15 months, back on Copaxone since 2015. Just switched to the 3x per week, which is great. The volume of liquid is the same (concentration just higher). I've lost about 60 pounds over the last fours years due to Swank diet, so it...
