Travel to US and flaxseeds?
Hi, I know this is slightly off topic - but maybe you guys can help a little and give some hints. There is a chance I will be travelling to US in next months. I use some natural remedies to manage my MS. This is mainly flax seed oil and flax seeds (also some OTC vit E/Mg etc). Now there is this whol...

Re: heat
Lupus and rheumatoid arthritis are some (but not all) examples of autoimmune diseases that get worse by heat but they do not affect the neurons. So I do not accept slowed conduction velocities due to demyelination as an only explanation why MS symptoms get worse with increasing heat. It is too much ...

Re: heat
I think heat/light sensitivity = inflammation going on.
Whenever I take sufficient antioxidants (magnesium, selenium, vit E) and flax oil my sensitivity is significantly lower, this summer I could tolerate ca 93 deg F. Which wasn't pleasant but not pain.

MS clusters and rivers?
Hi there, does anyone know if there is an explanation for possible MS clusters along rivers? They are mentioned for example in this paper: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/1146497/ I also asked around a polish support group and it seems there are indeed people that live very near to rivers (wate...

MS and computer screens?
Hi, so this might be a weird idea but do you think computer screens can affect/worsen MS? PwMS are light sensitive, the skull is to some degree penetrable to IR and after all the screen is a 40-60-80 W light bulb? And we stare into these screens for hours. I wonder if this can drive up inflammation ...

Hm, so maybe in the end there is something in Marshall Protocol? Regarding boosting the immune system rather then suppresing it?

Re: studies: nutrition for ms (2012, 2011, 2005)
BTW, does anyone understand the discrepancy between high fat (Paleo, TW) and low fat (Swank, Jelinek) approach for managing MS? It is kind of annoying, these are 2 opposite approaches!

Re: uric acid
Did anyone here try to do some experiments with NOT drinking enough water (fluids)? The other way round what is usually recommended? I tried to drink only a small amount of water (less then a half glass + some fruits) at work, during 8-9 hours. Guess what? I found that my symptoms were significantly...

Re: Anyone got rid of light/heat sensitivity?
ok thx. how about symptoms other than light/heat issues? Most annoying is the balance problem - difficulty with standing and simultaneously tracking objects with eyes, especially when I am tired at work (PC) - I am afraid of falling. During weekends, holidays, when I am not at work, the main proble...

Anyone got rid of light/heat sensitivity?
Hi,
did anyone manage to decrease or get rid completely of their light/heat sensitivity with some natural approach/diet tricks? Summer is almost there and I already feel worse in these conditions. LDN and vit E helps a lot, but does not solve all.

Re: Wahls diet discussion
Do you have a link to her paper?
I would rather say these people did not take the same cocktail of supplements or minocycline that she does. Hence you can not attribute her success to diet only, it is a "protocol" not diet.

Re: Has ANYONE reversed their MS BESIDES Dr Wahls?
In general I try to follow the Wahls diet. No dairy, very little gluten. I also try to limit saturated fats, however not rigorously < 15g/d. The effects after 1.5 years are that I am very lean (dropped from 72kg to 62kg). I definitely feel better since avoiding dairy, but not sure about gluten. Anyw...

Re: Marshall Protocol or olmesartan anyone?
Restricting vitamin D is wrong! Yes, of course. What I want to say is that when MP advocates D restriction it leads among other things to fat restriction. People might feel better not because their D dropped from like 30ng/ml to 19ng/ml (hard to detect these nanograms, isn't it?) but because their ...
