Re: Over-the-counter antihistamine repairs myelin damage in

Researching this for my son a while ago, I found this is no longer an OTC drug. (How convenient.) The potential for Clemastine fumarate as a treatment for MS has been investigated for a number of years and this would not be the first study to suggest its efficacy at remyelination. It appears it was ...

Re: Scientist Claims She Is On The Verge Of Curing MS

Not quite the right thread, and I may be behind the curve, but has anyone heard of anything in the pipeline concerning the use of CRISPR technology in the treatment of MS. I've been reading articles and watching videos on the treatment of viral infections with CRISPR, and in one study complete (no d...

NHE, thanks. Relatedly, I've been learning quite a bit watching videos by Dr. Grace Liu on improving gut microbiome with diet.

Re: TH17 immune cells linked to gut bacteria...

Am I reading that right...they intentionally risked increased disease activity by promoting TH17 cell expansion in MS patients? Or are they saying the intestinal environment can promote TH17 cell expansion?

Re: Hi guys! Update from flora68 after 20 months on LDN

Hi ElliotB. He's now 35, diagnosed about 4 years ago. After research, his and mine, he decided to forego DMD's and went with diet (primarily Keto) and supplementation (B-complex, vit D, R-alpha lipoic acid, VSL#3, and LDN, to name a few).

Re: Hi guys! Update from flora68 after 20 months on LDN

Hi flora68. I'm glad you posted. I'm a father of a son diagnosed with MS who is doing well and also taking LDN. When you say "nothing but LDN" do mean no diet restrictions and no vitamin and mineral supplementation, or just that you're not taking DMD's, such as Copaxone or Tecfidera? Also,...

Re: EBV targeting treatment yields clinical improvements in

Making no pretense as to understanding the science, I was blown away when I, in an effort to better understand the above article, researched the word "citrullination" in Wikipedia. So many of the subjects discussed at length in these forums appear in the Wikipedia article, and other connec...

Re: HELP me with MS water fasting

To throw some less drastic but effective alternatives into the mix; the ketogenic diet, the time-restricted diet, and the fasting-mimicking diet have shown promise in treating MS. They are muscle-sparing diets, utilizing both body fat and dietary fat as sources of fuel. While they differ somewhat in...

Re: Gut bacteria linked to Multiple Sclerosis

It does not re-introduce bacteria that is completely lacking, but it does feed and repopulate beneficial bacteria that still resides in the lower intestines.

Re: Vit D & Faroe Islands

Lyndacarol, I completely agree. What I am suggesting though is that given the latitude and the climate of the Faroe Islands, the people were already sufficiently deficient in D3 so as to present themselves defenseless to whatever "bug" initiated the process that manifests as MS. On a side ...

Re: Vit D & Faroe Islands

Seems more likely a contagion (EBV, STD, etc.) given the statement "the cases of MS all occurred in islanders who lived close to British bases."
