Re: Biotin "significantly improves" progressive MS-new study
I had taken Biotin in the past as I felt I may be taking to much malic acid, alpha lipoic acid and malic acid which deplete the body of it. I was taking the acids to support the KREBs cycle which is another topic… I didn’t notice anything while on it but i was taking only 5000mcg daily. This study h...

Effects of Vasectomy
Just had a vasectomy and then read some unsupported theory that said having sperm with no where to go can increase the immune response. There are studies that show Vasectomies have no effect on the risk of MS but curious how many men here have had the procedure and if their MS changed post surgery. ...

Re: steroid questions
That's a tough break Jerry, with all you do to thwart MS I understand your frustration. I live much like a monk in my religious devotion to Gym, Supplements and Swank Diet and last year I had a patch of skin on my shin go numb for a couple months. You start questioning everything in the regimen and ...

Totally agree!
I very much prefer strength training to aerobic as well. Much like the Ritchie Russell REPs program.

Re: Just had a MS Diagnosis
Mortgage wasn't an issue, Life Insurance is possible but expensive, unfortunately... but honestly at his age and life situation who cares? When/If he gets married and has kids in the future it may be a larger concern but I would keep your focus short term. Every 8 years there tends to be a major bre...

Re: This is it!!! Beginning of the End!!!
My last post on this topic, was similar and was apparently deleted. : Hey buddy your post still stands on the previous page. The mods here are pretty good about letting people say whats on their mind. Sometimes let too much go, such the fear mongering by the anti-vaxers and conspiracy theorists. Yo...

Re: EBV VIRUS AND MS :POTENTIAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMMUNOTHER
Agreed, excellent article and yet not over-stating the theory.
This is from Pender though who we already know is researching EBV and B cell issues. Would be great to see other researchers pick this up and run with it.

I believe that is the definition of fear mongering... really unfortunate you bring that here.Celeste485 wrote:... They may not bother you or many other people but how do you really know?...

Re: Benign MS
Hi Karen, I often struggle with what is an MS symptom and what is just getting old… just realize that your MS is just a part of your life and live it. Whether you brand fatigue as MS or as overdoing it the feeling still exists either way. Your doctor really isn’t going to be able to do much for your...

Re: 5 days of IV Steroids: Still no improvement
Went to the Hospital on Sunday and started the IV Solumedrol.... Is there anybody that has had a similar experience that can shed some light?.... Hi Flash, I had several relapses in my first year of MS. I ignored the first relapse, took oral prednisone (which did nothing except make me look like zo...

Re: A new concept and treatment options for MS
I've also wondered about chemo. It's so broad, it would better if it was targeted. Often you read of some success with stem cells but they never highlight the chemo beforehand. Couldn’t agree more! There are many different types of chemicals used in Chemo. They are specifically designed to combat d...

Re: A new concept and treatment options for MS
Thanks for the explanation Scott, I hope you do well on the Wahls diet I have heard good things. I think Wahls and Swank do similar things where Swank has you restrict it Wahls has you consume so much of the "good" fats and vegetables that it pushes the ratio closer to proper balance. I th...

Re: A new concept and treatment options for MS
Increasing saturated fats… can I ask why? Several studies have concluded that the plasma of people with MS has TOO MUCH saturated fat. Saturated fat is critically important in cell production making up to 50% of the cell membrane and giving it rigidity. The cell membrane is selectively permeable, de...

Re: Was this promising drug to reverse MS discussed here bef
Looks promising. But as we know the mouse model of MS doesn't add up to much as pretty much everything seems to cure it.
