Re: HIV drugs could help to prevent and treat Multiple Scler
Seeing what those medications can do to HIV patients, I'm not really sure I'd want those side effects. I have a few friends with HIV and they are always suffering from nasty side effects. If I had to guess, the incidence is lower since the body is more focused on a chronic attack on immunity. That w...

Re: Demyelinating lesion in brain, negative LP (CIS)
It's a long history. I'll try to sum it up :) In 2006 mild tingling along my spine started but went away. In 2009, it came back more pronounced. Also, I had a couple of very strange symptoms. I could rub between my bicep and forearm and hear it in my left ear. Eventually it all went away. The weird ...

Demyelinating lesion in brain, negative LP (CIS)
I was in the hospital last week for a myriad of symptoms (mostly right-sided, but occasional left side involvement). An MRI on the brain revealed a plaque in my frontal lobe in the subcortical white matter, suspected to be demyelinating. Spine MRI tested negative. My IgG levels have all cme back in ...

Re: Walking and Spasticity
My spasticity slowly went away in the hospital. I'm now able to walk again. I'm going to post my new frustrations in a new thread. Thank you for the info, Lyndacarol.

Re: CBD Marijuana Capsules
I have "Clinically Isolated Syndrome". Basically, Multiple Sclerosis but they have only found 1 lesion so far. I informed my neurologist (a resident who is an undergraduate from a very well known, prominent school, and a graduate at a very prominent school for neurology) that I use marijua...

Re: Walking and Spasticity
"Clinically Isolated Syndrome" This is from the MRI (brain) report: "Findings: There is a faint T2 hyperintensity, T1 hypointensity in the subcortical white matter of the left frontal lobe, with ill-defined enhancement, suspicious of a demyelinating plaque." I didn't see any any ...

Re: Walking and Spasticity
They did another MRI on my brain yesterday. The spot they found on my MRI done in April, they are now believing to be a demyelinating lesion. They sent a MED STUDENT IN HERE to tell me this ALONE. He couldn't even tell me if it grew or not. He told me this before my standard sensory, strength, and r...

Re: I hope they say MS.. Crazy?
Not knowing the problem is certainly frustrating. :?: Possibly ever worse would be to have a diagnosis that not a lot can be done about. Or a diagnosis that, when doctors don't know where to go with diagnosing a new problem, they attribute the symptom to MS, if it seems at all plausible. In my expe...

Re: I hope they say MS.. Crazy?
There are no tests that say "This is MS". Many other things need to be ruled out first. Besides, easier tests can see if you have things like Lupus, RA, Lyme, B12 deficiencies, or other inflammatory diseases. Even if your MRI tests positive for a possible MS lesion, they need to see if the...

Re: Walking and Spasticity
Interesting. I was having spasms until yesterday, I was given a Valium before an MRI and my spasms were very low, and have been low since. Baclofen doesn't work on them. The spasms are only brought on by putting pressure on my right leg. IDK if my Vit D levels were tested. I'm guessing yes since I'v...

Re: Walking and Spasticity
Surprisingly, my B12 was borderline low in serum at near 300 (since I measured near 500 in March and I was very symptomatic then). The neurologist said she had ordered labs to see if I'm actually deficient or not, but doesn't suspect that I am given all of the other labs I've had. On top of that, sh...

Re: Walking and Spasticity
Thanks sweetie. I hope things are going well for you as well. My neurologist came in and did some tests. I have patchy loss of sensation in my legs, muscle weakness in my right limbs, in my left eyelid, and in my lips. She did reflexes and told me that since my toes went up instead of down when rubb...

Re: MS B12 Pacemaker
Injections generally are a more effective method of absorbing any substance, since it does not go through the metabolic process before reaching your blood stream (getting splashed with acids before getting to the blood is going to lessen the amount of it).THX1138 wrote:What is your take on B12 injections

Re: MS B12 Pacemaker
If you're not going to trust the diagnosis of a doctor, why would you even waste the money to talk to one? I'll also add that sub-lingual administration offers a burst effect with a spike and higher levels, but a more rapid deterioration of the vitamin, as opposed to an oral method which offers a sl...

Re: Walking and Spasticity
misslux, Thank you. I've been in the hospital since yesterday, unable to walk. I think my leg strength and spasticity have improved quite a bit. Incontinence seems to come and go. I think I'm slowly urinating on myself as we speak because I feel a growing wetness in my protective underwear. I did ap...
