Re: If not in a flare-up, will physical exam show abnormal,

Thanks RuralLaundry, that was very informative. It's good to hear your optic neuritis is healing (albeit slowly) and you're almost back to normal. I had a blood test and my B 12 was normal. When you say a positive dx requires damage to be separated my time and place, does that mean there has to be ...

Re: If not in a flare-up, will physical exam show abnormal,

Hi Blondemom, It all depends on how well your body can heal up from the damage done during a flare up. I had a bout of Optic Neuritis a couple years ago which never went back to 100% in one eye. At this point 2 and 1/2 years later I'm probably around 90%. It took about 6 months to get from the worst...

Re: White blood cells in spinal fluid

I am reposting this in a separate thread in hopes that this is seen by someone who has some insight on what is going on with me. Here is an update on what is going on at the moment. I have been seeing an optho neurologist for my eye issues and he ordered lumbar puncture. Yesterday, I was told there...

Re: Symptoms are pointing to a possible diagnosis

Here is an update on what is going on at the moment. I have been seeing an optho neurologist for my eye issues and he ordered lumbar puncture. Yesterday, I was told there was a high number of white blood cells in my spinal fluid. I will be getting more results in the next few weeks. He said there i...

Re: Young with MS?

Go see another doctor. I cannot tell you how many neurologists have told me "Oh you're fine." "Oh the dizziness is just allergies." W/e w/e. I started experiencing my debilitating symptoms (similar to yours) at 18. I am twenty and am just now getting the tests done that I needed...

Re: Agraphia with MS

"Or while typing an e-mail put the wrong word in but it was "right" when you typed it." Yes, I have noticed this but never made the connection. But it does make sense now. It doesn't happen to me often but when it does, I am amazed how the wrong word just 'appears' magically. I ...

Agraphia with MS

I haven't been on the site awhile mostly due to getting sick of the same 2 or 3 people copy and pasting the same garbage in each thread. However I was thinking about something today and wanted to put it up to the forum and look for input. Has anyone noticed symptoms similar to Agraphia with MS? Havi...

Re: Wondering if I might have MS and how do I learn for cert

I'm not an expert but I have had optic neuritis before. Based on my experience with optic neuritis I don't think that's what you had. It seems like it would have lasted longer, when I had it the progression from clear vision to vision loss took many days, then the progression back to clear vision wa...

Re: Hello from Canada, eh!

Have it, read it, not interested but thanks! Not really interested in debating the merits, but my diet and lifestyle is VERY good for years before MS. This might not be your intention, but I left another board because I see people rammed by those who are proponents of certain diets or meds or suppl...

Re: Devastated 17 year old bro diagnosed with MS

Everyone has a different theory on treatment and what works. One common theme is eating well and exercising. I find when I eat well I feel better in general, when I lapse into eating junk (fast food, diet soda) I feel more like garbage. There are tons of threads on here about diet, finding one that ...

Re: Why does CCSVI treatment help?

Cheerleader, Thank you for the excellent response, very informative. I'm a very logical person, an engineer by trade and training. Like many others the inconsistencies in this disease drive me nuts and I've only just begun. I can't imagine the mental fortitude in the people that have been at if for ...

Why does CCSVI treatment help?

I'm new here and I tried to do a search but didn't find the particular information. I understand the concept of CCSVI from what I have read so far is that the flow of blood AWAY from the brain and CNS is restricted. This causes "stagnant" blood I'll call it to leave excessive iron deposits...

Re: How were you told of your Dx?

I kind of figured it out on my own, I have not received a formal diagnosis but the tests and symptoms indicate MS so I assume it's correct. I am not at a point where I am willing to treat for it using DMD's or other meds so I am taking lifestyle changes to try and fix things. No need to have a docto...

Re: change in dental amalgams

With reference to the first post, in recent years composite filling use has been on an uptrend due to advances in the composites. With increased use of composite fillings it would stand to reason the use of amalgam fillings would be in decrease in most situations. Wouldn't this indicate the rate of ...
