Re: Opposing T cell responses in EAE

Here's how to lose me in any MS discussion. Mention EAE. It's not MS, we're not mice. They don't correlate. EAE is given to perfectly healthy mice and they then 'cure' the mice of whatever they gave them to get EAE. Then they publish it as a 'groundbreaking potential MS cure' make a bunch of money a...

Re: Monash University researchers one step closer to finding treatment

Oh look, they cured eae. Again. What is this, 300, 499 cures for mice. How many work on people? Oh, 0? Maybe they should look in a different direction.

Re: Why Ocrevus is a new favorite drug by doctors?

I am concerned with evaluating the risks versus benefits of my next ocrevus infusion, esp. when there is a coronavirus pandemic. 1. If I skip my next ocrevus infusion will my MS progression rate be worse than before? 2. Is there evidence, prior cases, that reflect how primary progressive patients r...

Re: Ocrevus

I've been on it 3 or 4 years now, the only actual MS drug I've taken. In general I've never had relapses even though I'm dx'd RR. My secret suspicion is I'm actually Ppms. No MRI drain bramage but fatigue and a f'd up leg, lesions in my spine. But a PpMS dx shuts me out of certain insurance routes s...

Re: Why Ocrevus is a new favorite drug by doctors?

Placebo in MS is a big problem (to me) in most of the studies. A while back the Dr. recommended aubagio for me (after prescribing and then telling me not to take tecfidera). I was talking to one of the nurses at an appointment and she asked me what I was on. At that time, nothing. I told her I tried...

Re: Why Ocrevus is a new favorite drug by doctors?

The main side effects are during and post infusion. I'm one of the lucky ones that gets a rash. I also feel run down for about a week afterwards but there's a reasonable chance it's psychosomatic. I get the infusion done at the local cancer center and I find the whole thing even more depressing than...

I did that for about 10 weeks, drew blood on Thursday and haven't taken meds since. Im back on them Monday but felt line i need a break. Test results in today. Tsh 3...

Re: RE; MS STUDY SUPPORTS HITTING MS FAST AND HARD

Because statistically mild drugs ARE NOT effective? At all? Over time the same percentage of people on them as not taking anything, reach the same end point. The way the drugs 'work' is unverifiable. You can't prove that you took x so you only had 3 relapses instead of 4. All you can say is you onl...

Re: Second Infusion two weeks away, I feel like death? Any o

Infused again last week. Fairly uneventful. Neuro put me on meds for a week before and after. Im one of the lucky few that had gotten a rash with every infusion, originating around my testicles and ears. Lots of fun to be had. Supposedly the rashes lessen with each infusion. In any case either pretr...
