Re: Experiences with Copaxone

Adding to this thread in case my experience is useful for others to reference. I am dropping using Copaxone 20mg (daily) after about 45 days of use, with the approval of my neuro. Side effects of ISR/lumps/bruising are more disabling to me than the current state of my MS (Dx 8/2014) which is only mi...

Re: well, here I go...

vesta, i agree that toxic+toxic = no good. that said, you may be surprised to hear that i already eat pretty healthy, and have for a few solid years now. (before that time, though, i admit i ate a lot of garbage!) i have avoided aspartame or other artificial sweeteners for about 5 years. i eat mostl...

Re: well, here I go...

thanks for the note on pm. i admit i'm being a bit more open than i normally would, but it is deliberate, also in the hopes that maybe it will help someone else :) honestly, in all the sites/threads/forums i've read so far, no one i've come across has admitted to being overweight. i think it's just ...

Re: well, here I go...

interesting! i can't wait for this book to be delivered to me tomorrow. and to see if/when i can get these add'l b-12 tests done. i just started the zonegran (rx from the neurologist) in august, so i know that's not the cause of my issues. i have been having headache issues for 1-2 years now. had mi...

Re: well, here I go...

lyndacarol, sorry i misunderstood you! thanks for clarifying. and i'm sorry to hear the treatment didn't work for you either. :( thank you for sharing your experience. i've just gotten off the line with my neuro, and regarding how to fix my continuation of symptoms (buzzing, mostly), they want to st...

Re: Newly diagnosed, now more scared than ever!

gwyzz, i hear you. i've only had my dx for just over a month now, so i get it! i'm still processing it now, and from what i've heard from some others, even the first year or two can be tough as you adjust. i try to remind myself to be glad i got a dx because there are so many people who go years and...

Re: well, here I go...

everyone, i can't thank you enough for your support. it means tons to me, really. i am amazed by all of the knowledge here. i appreciate your time and responses. i'm already in contact with my neuro to see if i can get some of these things that you've recommended, hopefully to get them resolved in s...

Re: well, here I go...

i was much more comfortable with the idea of copaxone 40mg/3x/wk, but unfortunately, my insurance denied it. :( so, now that i'm resigned to a daily dose, i'm more inclined to go the path that vesta suggests (which doesn't seem to suggest any medications)... though on the other hand, i still complet...

Re: well, here I go...

thank you all for your input. luckily i'm already set to be meeting with a dietitian (at a medical clinic) next week, and so will ask if she can order any add'l testing as you've recommended (as i'm not set to see my neuro again for a couple of months). lyndacarol, i may have misled you in one area....

Re: well, here I go...

hello there, thanks for the quick reply! no, i have not had homocysteine level tested (hadn't heard of it before), but will look to do so. i see on another thread here that "Standard Range 5 - 15 uMol/L"; would you say that is accurate? what can a person do to lower the level if it's found...

well, here I go...

hi everyone. first off, thanks tons for having this site. i've found it incredibly useful and even inspiring in the last month or so, since i picked up my ms dx 8/18. i do still have a few questions though i'm hoping someone can weigh in on... backstory: i suspect this 'relapse' of mine has been goi...
