Ooh, it's so good to hear your voices again! Just to give you some insight: it took me about 5 hours to write that previous post, so " lurking" isn't a good idea because I'd be so tempted to join in, there wouldn't be time to do the things which normally take up my day, such as yawning, bl...

Hello everyone, I'm deeply touched that you're concerned about my well being but honestly I'm really, really fine. The last 12 months have been particularly difficult for me healthwise, with a seemingly endless round of infections, and the result has been to leave me permanently exhausted so that I ...

Great to hear you, too! Loobie, it's amazing to hear of something going from research to treatment so quickly – obviously because it's a preexisting procedure and not a new drug – I can't wait to hear your progress reports! Bob, Facebook is easier because it requires only brief comments and no thoug...

Rumours of my death ...

… Have been greatly exaggerated. I'm OK! Bob tells me he keeps getting enquiries about my health, so I think I'd better explain. Since November of last year I seem to have had one infection after another: they each knocked me for six and no sooner do I begin recovering from one than another one stri...

Seconded – I actually missed the downtime because I was distracted elsewhere, but this site is so important to so many people and it's easy to forget it's not just " there" by magic: there are people working hard to keep it going, and they deserve our thanks,

Sometimes it's easier to open up to people you've only just met: if they react badly you don't risk losing anything, and your new friendships can start off from a position of openness and honesty. Old friends can be harder for lots of reasons: they have to change their perception of someone they tho...

I've often wondered if oxygen deprivation caused by sleep apnea is a primary factor in some cases of MS – certainly blood flow and oxygen delivery are different in MS brains, (sorry: can't remember where I read that, but I know I posted an article some time ago). Oreo, I've just got a brand new plas...

For most of my adult life I have had a very stiff neck, with very limited rotation, which I think is being made worse by my more general lack of ability to move and flex and loosen up. If it is very quiet and I turn my head I can hear a horrible gritty sound, as if I have coarse sand between my vert...

Does the FDA hinder progress?

There are two sides to this discussion, (I suppose it wouldn't be much of a discussion if there weren't), demonstrated by the comments at the bottom of the page:

Does it run Windows? If so, it's halfway down the toilet already! If other new technologies are anything to go by, I can imagine that this will spawn ever smaller but increasingly powerful offspring… it might get us used to the idea of having machines inside our bodies and thus pave the way for nano...

We often hear of discoveries which sound promising but then disappear from view, so it's nice to know they're following up on Netrin-1,

Unfortunately, doctors who don't know much about MS are not rare at all. I've heard lots of people talk about MS hugs, but I'm not sure I've ever experienced one myself. I do sometimes feel a bit short of breath and unable to reach the " peak" of a really deep breath, is that the same thing?

" … there is no moving forwards… I bang my head repeatedly searching for my happy place… attempting to live normally then feel disappointed" Oh, Miss Feisty, you've summed up what so many of us feel or have felt so often. You are grieving for what you have lost and fearful for what you mig...

Hi LiquidSkin, What you describe certainly has all the hallmarks of depression, and that's only to be expected after receiving your diagnosis: it's perfectly normal. Financial worries will also add to the mix. Have you stopped doing all the things you used to enjoy, and if you have, is it because yo...
