Re: Fatigue

Cool, I'll read up on it. I wasn't aware of the importance of acetyl-L-carnitine - I appreciate it! Sorry for my ignorance, but what is EBV, and how does it tie in to this?

Re: Fatigue

Thanks! If I do ever decide to try it, I'll definitely let you know. I ordered some of that MitoQ, so I'll see how that works out. If I don't feel any difference, I'll probably end up trying the Ritalin.

Re: Fatigue

Thanks for the response! My mother took Provigil and loved it, but sadly our insurance won't cover it. I would have loved to try it, though. I think I'm going to do as pushingForward recommended and look into MitoQ. I'll let you guys know if I notice any changes.

Re: Fatigue

Glad to know I'm not the only one! I didn't know if others had this problem as well, but my neurologist told me that extremes of either hot or cold weather tend to cause more MS symptoms.

Re: Fatigue

Yeah, it is. Weakness in the legs is one of my most common symptoms. I don't know about others, but really cold weather does it to me too.

Re: Fatigue

I'm not sure, honestly. Anytime I work out my goal is to get my heart rate up. My legs disagree with me afterwards, but it gets better eventually.

Re: Fatigue

That looks pretty interesting, I'll have to look into it some more! Pretty decent diet; lots of green vegetables and a good bit of protein. I try to avoid breads, especially enriched flour, and drink mostly water, tea, or coffee. I exercise twice a week. I am a student teacher at a local martial art...

Re: new to this is my ms but i wish it weren't

So I talked to my mother, and she says that she did not have any negative side effects from Gilenya. She is not on it anymore as it did not help her, but it wasn't an unpleasant drug.

Fatigue

Hey, guys. One of the symptoms that I find most irritating - the constant fatigue - has been a bit overbearing lately. I was on Amantadine for a time, and it seemed to help, but it lost its effectiveness after a while. I take several supplements, including B12, and was wondering if any of you had po...

Re: new to this is my ms but i wish it weren't

Welcome! Glad to have you here. The only treatment I have experience with is Copaxone, but as lyndacarol said, there are members here who are more familiar with it. My mother was on Gilenya for quite awhile, so I'll check with her and see what kind of side effects she had from it.

Re: scared and alone

I'm sorry to hear you're having such a rough time. Some of your symptoms are definitely seen in MS, but they are also possible symptoms of several other illnesses, too. Have you considered consulting a neurologist?

Re: Intro

Very true; life does go on. I get irritated at my symptoms sometimes, but it doesn't last too long. With senior year winding down and college approaching, I don't have much time to linger on negativity! Lol

Re: Study may explain beneficial effects of marijuana on MS

I have never tried it for my symptoms, but from all the research done, it seems there is ample evidence to suggest that it does help ms-related symptoms. I'm actually doing my senior paper over medical marijuana, and have learned a lot of useful information about its benefits. I don't think my MS is...
