Re: MS: A Functional Disorder
Another thought that occurred to me. People with MS are known to have an elevated ACE level (more typically associated in people with sarcoidosis). The high ACE level is indicator of a problem with the renin-angiotensin system which regulates fluid movement within the body (this is my low level und...

Re: MS: A Functional Disorder
Vesta, I hear what you are saying and I am VERY happy that the treatment you are using works for you. But because MS appears to be so complex someone else trying this may not get any benefit at all. And I realize that peer reviewed studies are expensive and time consuming but how else can one scient...

Re: MS: A Functional Disorder
All of your points are well presented but until anyone can "prove" any of the many current possible theories as to the cause of MS, then we will continue to have many different opinions on this truly complex disease. Treatments that work for some patients do absolutely nothing for the next...

‘No evidence of disease activity’ for multiple sclerosis patients on Ocrelizumab Patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) taking Ocrelizumab are more likely to achieve no evidence of disease activity (NEDA) than those taking beta interferon, researchers from the pivotal OPERA I and OPERA II phase III ...

Re: Why should I take DMDs? Not being rhetorical (x-post MSW
As one can read from all the responses so far, what can work for one person does nothing for the next. You can take a DMD and end up having all kinds of attacks or it may reduce the number. Despite all the advertising by the drug companies who make these medications it still has not been proven that...

Re: Roche drug ocrelizumab clears final hurdle
Another monoclonal antibody drug that plays with the immune system. Wonder how many cases of PML this drug will end up giving to MS patients?

Re: Another clue in understanding multiple sclerosis?
Cheer, It looks like a very big longshot trying to tie together all of these little bits of info from the MS mouse research. This kind of investigation can take years of work but then again, after decades and decades of MS research resulting in no cause or cure, what's another 10 years or so! Makes ...

Re: Another clue in understanding multiple sclerosis?
Hi. That might be a bit harsh. The reaction can be observed. Its a pity they defined the lymphatic system that way. Cheerleader did note some Israeli work that found the lymphatic system extended into the brain. That tipped 100 years of thinking on its head so little connections like this can be he...

Done on the mouse model of MS....which I've read really isn't human MS at all. So how accurate can this research be other than finding something different in mouse MS?

I read something a while ago about Prineas and Barnett's work. They did an autopsy on a young lady who died quite quickly after a severe MS attack which severely affected her lungs. The autopsy was done almost immediately after death and they found no evidence of immune system activity at all which ...

Stanford researchers uncover patterns in how scientists lie about their data When scientists falsify data, they try to cover it up by writing differently in their published works. A pair of Stanford researchers have devised a way of identifying these written clues. http://news.stanford.edu/news/201...

Re: Throbbing
Yes I do have MS, and I am at my wits end lol I wake up with this feeling and go to bed with it! I don't know if I should look into finding another doctor to look into it?!? Or what road to take! If possible see if you can locate a Pain Clinic that operates in your area and get referred to it. Thes...
