Re: Calling all Minocycline Users
Hello to all, more than 4 years without new posts in this thread: no interest in the double-blind study done in CIS patients in Canada since ca. 2008 (any more)? http://mssociety.ca/Alberta/pdf/MS_Connections/MSConnectionsDec07.pdf The preliminary results have been reported in the ECTRIMS Conference...

Re: New - undiagnosed - scared...
Did we "talk" about iron metabolism? I was moderately overweight (and hypertensive) before I found out that I had high stored iron (serum ferritin ca. 300 ng/ml = ug/l) in 1993. I got rid of some 2,5-3 g of stored iron by about a dozen phlebotomies, identical to blood donations - and lost ...

Re: New - undiagnosed - scared...
Is there any point to the other tests if I know my B12 levels are low from the initial test? I'm just wondering if it makes more sense to try to boost up my B12 fast -- I wont see my MS specialist until early Jan., so that's the earliest I could be put on a MS med. In the meantime, I could be seein...

Re: New to forum but old to MS
Well Chenman, (... ...) Steiners work is well known and he is highly regarded by those who tested me for Lyme. I don't believe I fit your model. Regards, Are we talking about Prof. Gabriel Steiner (1883-1965)? I don't think his work is "well known". (As far as I am aware the core of his d...

Re: New to forum but old to MS
Well Chenman, Keep trying. MS is an infectious disease in your view? You are not the first to suggest Lyme and its coinfections. You are not the first to suggest doxycycline. I am glad your approach has worked for you but I do not have the infections you allude to and I have been tested for them. I...

Re: New to forum but old to MS
Hi, Without invalidating anything Chenman has said, it likely MS is multifactorial. A viral cause such as EBV is often implicated and bacterial infections are often suggested. Combination therapies are fine and probably wise as long as you have a reasonable basis to follow them. Do get tested for a...

Re: Multiple Health Benefits from this 'Super Food'
in addition to grass fed meats, do you also eat the three heaping plate fulls of vegetables and greens and berries that Dr. Wahls recommends for daily consumption? She says that when she started eating 3 cups greens, 3 cups color, and 3 cups sulfur, the "magic happened". Though I find mos...

Hi, (...) The Avonex manufacturers note does not proclaim they know what causes MS but you would have to assume they say there is efficacy because it is antiviral. (...) Hi, it is quite strange that they always talk about a viral cause. A century ago there were millions of people infected with syph...

Re: Simple strategy: Doxycycline for 2-3 weeks, then "pulsin
I don't suggest anything to anybody: I just wrote about what happened to me and what was eventually done about it. My qualifications are many but they are in art rather than medicine so I am not qualified to suggest anything. People can read what I write and decide for themselves what to do. The po...

Re: New - undiagnosed - scared...
Would a Lyme test done on spinal fluid be more reliable? My neuro has ordered a spinal tap and I believe that is one of the tests he included. They have to do it according to common guidelines. MS is diagnosed by exclusion, since there is no test / routine to "prove" it. MS may not be dia...

My sincere congratulations to you, your progress is really remarkable, Sarah. If I understand and remember correctly over the frist 3 weeks in 2003 you took just 200 mg doxy per day (roxithromycin not yet available) - and already experienced ?massive progress, right? Can you imagine that doxycycline...

I posted this also in the other thread, but I just spoke with my ortho on the results of the early round of bloodwork, which was not actually related to MS but related to trying to see if I had some degenerative issue affecting my hip. That was all normal (including Lyme), however I tested out of r...

Re: A new concept and treatment options for MS
Thank you Scott. You're right, I need to work more on myself and do something. Because today it seems that I am just waiting for things to happen... I am currently tossed up and down by on the one hand the desire to better understand MS and start a therapy from there (on the microbiome, a bit Wahls...

Hello Sarah, October 10th, 2005 in "Combined Avonex and Doxycycline...": "...The first year of my treatment cost me about £4000, for private prescriptions and supplements. After that with intermittent therapy, about half that or less. So it seems absolutely stupid not to trial these ...
