I found also in the beginning that talking about it to un-MS educated people set me back emotionally. While I'm RRMS not PP the dx for me was devastating. While I relize that most people have good intentions when talking to you or trying to cheer you up, the reality is unless they have MS or have a ...

That sounds like the schedule i'm on. I had several mri's(in the tube 4 different times) leading up to my dx. Had blood work 3 times in the first 6 months on Avonex, 2 by neuro, 1 by pcp. Had none in the second 6. I have an appointment with my pcp in a couple weeks maybe i should request a test. Jus...

Its great that this treatment is working for you. Its nice when things do what they are supposed to do. It must be a challenge working with 8th graders and being on steroids. You must be a very patient and good natured person. The last time I was on them I had NO patience and warned every body aroun...

I just tried the ibuprofin thing instead of tylenol and while is still ached, i seemed a little better early the next morning. I still took some more in the middle of the night. I found taking a good multi vitamin also helps. How often does your neuro request mri's? I just had an appointment with mi...

I consider myself extremely lucky in this situation, my insurance company has this medication under medical instead of pharmacy and they consider it a medical necessity, therefore i have a $0 co-pay. I was going through Direct Delivery but my insurance company just took over alot of si medications s...

I understand entirely the pressure to stay employed, its on my mind constantly. In Aptil 2004, I was dx 4 months after starting my current job. The company i worked for was kind enough to grant me a 1 1/2 week leave of absence. That only added to the stress of the situation. I returned to work befor...

Thanks for the advice. I'll try the Ibuprofin and see what the results are for me. I currently inject on thursday evening around 7:00. Waking up in the nite is normal for me I do it every nite between 12:00 and 2:00, it has been like this ever since my dx. I only work 6:00-10:00 on Fridays so this i...

Will the side effects ever cease?

I've been on Avonex for 1 year now and still have the normal side effects every week that come with it. I've gotten a pretty good routine to minimise the effects using Tylenol, eating, rest, and more Tylenol, but they are still there every week. Some weeks are worse than others. The neuro said when ...

My neuro put me on IV steroids immediately following my dx. I was having problems walking and was unable to use my left hand. After 4 days my walking and hand had not improved but my attitude had gone done hill with mood swings. After more doctor visits and more tests and the large amount of stress ...

Hello from Maine

Hi, I'm Joe a 35 year old from ME. I was dx with MS on April 7 2004 @ 3:45 P.M. Needless to say that this is a day I'll never forget. After having some severe symptoms which include loss of the use of my left hand, left leg, hyper sensitivity in the left arm and leg, and optic neuritis in the right ...
