Re: If Baclofen works...

Baclofen was FDA approved specifically for MS. However, Baclofen is a muscle relaxer and is used to treat conditions which require a muscle relaxer, not just MS. Using Baclofen and having it help does not indicate the cause is due to MS. There are quite a few different muscle relaxers that can be pr...

Re: How do your flares end?

An exacerbation (relapse, attack, flare-up) is a worsening of old symptoms and/or new symptoms lasting continuously for more that 48 hours. Exacerbations can last days to weeks and depending on the exacerbation recovery can take months. Each person experiences this differently depending on the damag...

Re: MRI results

If your MRI without contrast didn't show any lesions the MRI with contrast will show the same...no lesions. Contrast is only used to see if lesions found on the non-contrast MRI "light up" with contrast which would indicate current inflammation. To ask for contrast when your MRIs were norm...

Re: Concerned - Too Many MS Symptoms

Hi JChapkin. Many things could be causing what you are experiencing. You might consider working with your Primary Care Physician who can do testing for different things and refer you to a specialist if necessary. There is no symptom exclusive to this disease, many different conditions, vitamin/miner...

Re: Don't know if this is MS, but getting frustrated!

Hi jennymar. Looking at and interpreting a MRI really does require a Radiologist to know what is normal and what isn't. The report is usually much easier to understand :-) Bulging discs can cause many symptoms, some neurological, and it might be a good idea to have your back evaluated by a Neurosurg...

Re: Connecting the dots - 43 years of symptoms

Hi Sweetsue. The last few weeks the brain fog has been awful. My Husband says I stop breathing when I am asleep for a few seconds which is scary for him. I fall asleep constantly when sat down. I was emailing a friend the other day and fell asleep mid type. The above symptoms sounds like Sleep Apnea...

Re: Brain and Spine MRI with lesions radio & neuro disagree

What kind of panel should I request for bloodwork to do an in depth check of vitamins and minerals? I feel like a lot of docs think this is quackery and give you the cold shoulder. I had about every blood test to rule out MS on the protocol. My thyroid was done in September and glucose. Both normal...

Re: Brain and Spine MRI with lesions radio & neuro disagree

Hi Suzemom. QUESTION: have any of you had conflicting mri reports ? Where radiologist says one thing and neuro disputes it more than once? No, I have not had that experience. MS can be a difficult disease to diagnose and most Neurologists nowadays are very cautious about diagnosing. Many things can ...

Re: New lesion despite being PPMS or SPMS

I’d love to know if some of you ever had new lesions despite being PPMS or SPMS There is nothing uncommon for new lesions to appear and/or disappear even when a person is SP or PP. Lesions are a hallmark of this disease and lesions can happen anytime through our life with this disease. MS is a neur...

Re: My Story - Still waiting

Hi TaylorDuke, There are many conditions that can cause the symptoms you are experiencing, there is no symptom exclusive to MS including Optic Neuritis. I have had MS a very long time and have never had Optic Neuritis, my sister who does not have MS has had Optic Neuritis. Optic Neuritis can be an i...

Re: Fed up PRMS looking for anything !!

Vender, Primary Relapsing MS(PRMS) is rare, only 5% of those diagnosed with MS have this type. PRMS means you will have relapses but no remissions, so you cumulate symptoms/disabilities and continue to progress, although it might be possible to hit a plateau and stabilize. You are in a very difficul...

Re: Second opinion

Hi RightWill. I cheked several MS websites this week and I was surprised that I had almost every symptom listed.I'm worried...... It is impossible to diagnose MS based on symptoms alone. There are many conditions that have similar symptoms as those seen in MS. Testing will need to be done to rule in...

Re: Mobility scooter

There are scooter lifts that can be installed to lift it into the back of your Jeep or ones that attach to your receiver hitch. Bruno is a good company but there are other places you could get them from.
