Chronic pain
i live with pain from chronic spasticity. i've had a baclofen pump squirting meds into my spine for 6 months, and i think we've finally got it adjusted right. but if it gets a little hot or a little cold, old jimmy leg comes right back. if i take additional oral baclofen my brain fogs right over. i'...

Re: Diet that mimics fasting may reduce MS symptoms
i have been using this diet - the so-called "5-2" diet, reducing calories by half two days each week, off and on for weight management. i admit i have not been strict enough to notice any effect. but the idea that it can also reduce inflammation will further encourage me to give it another...

Re: Chronic Pain and pain pump
i have a baclofen pump to deal with severe spasticity. unchecked, it gets excruciating. like for you, i'm sure, in order for the oral meds to work (which they often don't) i have to take so much my brain can't function. after 6 months, i think the pump is adjusted as well as it can be, but when it g...

Trigeminal neuralgia
i am looking for a general description of ths. i spent a few weeks in the hospital, rehabbing from getting a baclofen pump. while there, i started getting sharp, stabbing headaches. we thought maybe it was from the spinal part of the surgery, or just hospital life in general. we let it go until i go...

No Meds
i am in the process of switching from mycophenolate (Cellcept) to either tecfidera or aubagio. for some reason, my request for cellcept was denied - medicare rules change, no longer approved for ms treatment - hence the switch. researching the available info online has me very discouraged. i have of...

Re: Terry Wahls and using a neuromusular Aide: The 300 PV EM
i started right in removing dairy, sugar and gluten, daily shakes of kale, mixed veggies/fruits (a full blender every morning), meats and fish as close as i could get to organic, wild-caught, grass fed. i stuck to the lists of accepted foods in her book. i ate that way, or as close as i could (there...

Re: Terry Wahls and using a neuromusular Aide: The 300 PV EM
i never tried the emp machine, but after 9 months on her diet (not as strictly as she did it) i found absolutely no change in my overall health. no weight loss, no change in symptoms, etc. no sugar, no gluten, and no dairy is tough to pull off in family life, and getting all those greens into me got...

Re: Wahls diet discussion
i've been on the protocol for about 10 weeks, and tho i have not been completely strict (i don't drive, so keeping ALL THAT FOOD in the house is a problem, i don't notice much change at all. i'll stick with it, if only because it is a healthier way to eat. i agree with another poster here that if th...

so sad to see this man lose his struggle, but so beautifully explained. an eloquent final message. and another check mark on the "No," side of the ledger.

Baclofen pump
This device has been suggested to me a few times by my neuro. I find baclofen very effective for leg cramps/spasms, but it does bring with it some sedating effect. With the pump, the baclofen goes right into the bloodstream, without the sedating part. I am very hesitant, for a few reasons. I'm not c...

i'm looking for suggestions for, or user reviews of, portable mobility scooters. i use a manual wheelchair, but due to lack of upper body strength/stamina, there are places i really can't go. right now, i'm looking at the "lite rider gl 140," from golden, and the "spitfire ex" fr...

Back again
I was a member of this forum a while ago, but lost track of it. So, I'm back, and hope to be a more active participant. I am SPMS, currently using Cellcept (mycophenolate), Ampyra, tizanadine, Baclophen and Clonazepam (as well as a few suppliments.) I'm interested to chat about most anything - my bi...

Re: RE LDN AND AMPYRA
that's odd that your neuro would not like LDN. well, i guess not odd, a lot of neuro's don't. i'm about the start it. (i have SPMS), after reading extensively, LDN is the ONLY treatment that even suggests that it might help things get better. i also take ampyra. the only change i think i will need t...
