RELAPSES

Hi all,
I was diagnosed in March this year but I have had MS for 8-10yrs apparently.
I have a question about relapses. How do I know if I'm having a relaps or if it's just a "crappy MS day"? Does relaps automatically mean new brain lesions?

Thank you for your time :-C
