Interesting info - and thanks DIM I was wondering the same about probiotics too!

Thanks all for these - it is an emerging science that I hope hurries up!

Re: Ultra Processed People/Foods

Ok

Yes it is interesting about sweeteners. He says the studies show that the body tastes the sweetener and EXPECTS sugar - there is none. So it makes you hungrier.

I will get to baking my own bread but not quite there yet.

Re: Ultra Processed People/Foods

Ok. I think most folk, especially those with kids, really need to know this stuff. I listened to it on Audible which was enough for me to be worried. I have cut back on the soya lattes (he says any kind of soya product apart from edamame is likely ultra processed). And having less Prets sandwiches. ...

Re: Ultra Processed People/Foods

Thanks NHE I heard him talk in a recent podcast. Similar stuff. Chris is a twin (and both are doctors) and has done experiments with UPF on himself. Interestingly his twin became obese in the run up to him discovering the nature of UPF. He does not call it food because he says it is industrially pro...

Ultra Processed People/Foods

Hi folks Currently having a rather long flare up of TN. :( However, and completely unrelated, I recently listened to the book "Ultra Processed People" by Chris Van Tulleken. It is a revelation - and not in a good way - that the 'foods' we have been sold have such an impact on our bodies. I...

Hello again

And happy new year to all!

Thanks Vesta and thanks NHE. I think I looked into DMSO years ago and vaguely recall the issues.

Re: Why Avoid DMDs

Hi Vesta

I notice this post was earlier this year. I must have missed it.

I am just having a very bad episode of trigeminal neuralgia and searching the site I found this.

Are you still in touch with Mark Miller?

And how is your sister doing?

Re: Science Pinpoints Nutrients Crucial to Brain Health

Thanks Dim Regarding the earlier posts on cholesterol, all I know is that in the past couple of years my health has taken a nosedive. And my cholesterol has increased - it used to be 4.3 then crept up to 4.9 then broke the 5 mark two years ago. I have higher HDL, which is 'good' cholesterol but not ...

Re: Diet modifications associated with lower cognitive decline

Hi DIM Yes I agree they are cardiovascular issues. Lowering saturated fat is key for anyone who is at risk of heart disease. But to date cholesterol has been the marker and in some ways the culprit for furred up arteries when it seems it is not the guilty party This also links with CCSVI I need to l...
