Re: Tysabri and sunburn?

Thanks for the replies. One concern with tysabri is JC virus, benign in most people but dangerous to anyone with MS. That suggests it's having a major effect on the body's immune system. I was diagnosed exactly one year ago. I've had no recurrences since the first bout of vertigo. I know it won't ha...

Tysabri and sunburn?

I don't spend much time outdoors. An hour or so at lunchtime spent jogging is about it. So why do I have a rather deep tan and constant peeling sunburn?

TIA,

kevin

Re: Constipation

I take one Colace with lunch. By breakfast the next morning I'm able to have a BM. If I forget to take the Colace I'm 'bound up' at least two days.

MS and ozone

I use ozone in my veterinary practice and I have MS so the idea of ozone treatment in Multiple Sclerosis is intriguing. I do personal DIV 20 gamma 60cc once weekly. I found these: Cerebrovascular pattern improved by ozone autohemotherapy: an entropy-based study on multiple sclerosis patients Abstrac...

Re: Dr. Ebers' disturbing interview about MS drugs and FDA

I don't get the point of the video. Sure, blame the FDA for being careful and say they're in league with the drug companies. All I know if I've been on tysabri for nearly a year now with no relapses.

Psoriasis?

I was diagnosed with MS ten months ago and put on tysabri. No relapses since the original event. But I've got a scaly spot on the 4th finger of both hands. It's on the lateral side of the second knuckles. I know psoriasis is autoimmune like MS. Could these spots be related to MS?

testosterone?

Since it's more common in women than men, I wondered whether testosterone might be the reason. I found this abstract: Arch Neurol. 2007;64(5):683-688. doi:10.1001/archneur.64.5.683 Objective To study the effect of testosterone supplementation on men with multiple sclerosis (MS). Design, Setting, and...

Re: Can Eating Pork Cause MS ?

High fat diet puts the body in ketosis. No insulin required. But being 61 with BPH now I worry more about prostate disease which results from fatty diet.

Re: Can Eating Pork Cause MS ?

Koneall, if your premise and theory is correct, do you have an explanation as to why vegans and vegetarians still get MS? I'd say nothing about MS is 100%. McDougall says eat starch. It stimulates low levels of insulin. Exactly as Atkins and other high meat diets propose. McDougall and Swank sugges...

Re: Can Eating Pork Cause MS ?

Starting with the premise that MS is caused by auto-antibodies that cross the BBB and damage myelin, a study in Iran showed that meat and pork eaters had the highest levels of these auto-antibodies. Vegetarians had the lowest number. Dairy eaters were in the middle. There are probably other factors ...

MS and APS and PD

Ten months ago I was dx'd with multiple sclerosis and subsequently antiphospholipid syndrome and then Parkinson's Disease. For APS there are three blood tests: Lupus anticoagulant, antiphospholipid enzyme and beta-glycoprotein. As of two days ago one Md is now saying I don't have APS. I probably nev...

Re: Tropospheric ozone

Dr Shalenberger notes in his book that ozone is inaccurately tied to pollution. It's not the ozone that causes disease but rather it's the lead and nitrates and other components of air pollution that are the culprits.
