Re: yguner's Antibiotics Log

Ah, Guner, so good to hear from you! Literally, just this past Saturday, I was wondering where you were and how you were doing. Are you on the cpn page? (I'm rarely on thisisms anymore, but Sarah and I are handling the cpn page since Jim Kepner left.

Re: 1st followup since dx

Instead of (once again) setting an arbitrary end-date, why not simply take the antibiotics until you're sure you're done? I'd planned on 'at least a year, then let's see how it goes'. I still felt I was getting additional benefit til around five years, which I was fine with. Better to keep improving...

Re: Unsolicited Ads

If it's snail mail, I'd agree with you. If it's email, your browser, search engine and even your smart phone cull your browsing information and target ads to people who've visited certain sites, posted on certain forums or done certain searches. Since I got my new smart phone a month ago, I've been ...

Re: 1st followup since dx

Since I have a couple of "I'll never go back to THAT doctor" appointments in my past, I can empathize.
And, better to come here to vent than upset the family.

If you don't mind my asking, aside from the physician-frustration, how are you feeling?

Re: 1st followup since dx

First, a question. Is there any chance they used a different MRI machine, or has something been enhanced since last time?

And, were your scans compared side by side?

Okay, now for the Pollyanna comments. You have no active lesions. You're not declining. So, why the glum response? :-D

Re: 1st followup since dx

Well, somehow I've missed this entire saga until today. Anunymouse, you and I had the same reaction to diagnosis. I refused to believe my body suddenly started chewing on itself and I researched until I fell asleep, got up and researched again, til I found a tiny blurb about antibiotics and MS, then...

Re: Want to start Dr Wheldon's protocol

So sorry to hear you've got it, but aren't you glad there's something you can actually DO for it?! I got my diagnosis the same way: optic neuritis and luckily my eye doctor was familiar with MS. I got on this protocol within six or seven weeks of diagnosis and I really believed it saved my life. It ...

NHE, I'm sorry, I don't. People on cpn help recommend milk thistle, in addition to NAC, as being liver protective, if that helps...

CPn testing is notoriously unreliable. I don't think it's safe to assume you're negative. Sarah should be along soon and will have better input, I think.

Re: Want to start Dr Wheldon's protocol

Hair washing! I totally forgot about that, but you're so right. I couldn't close my eyes while hair-washing in the shower, because I was disoriented and would sway back and forth. I'd gotten to the point where I'd put one hand on the shower wall and use one hand to wash my hair (and I have a LOT of ...

Re: Want to start Dr Wheldon's protocol

I tolerate everything a lot better now, including heat. It had become debilitating just before I started the protocol. I spent most of a vacation trip to Mexico in the air conditioned room, because the heat just flattened me. Now, I'm back to my usual great heat tolerance. Unfortunately, right now, ...
