Re: Omega-3 fatty acids lower matrix metalloproteinases

There is a dark side for men with taking omega-3 fatty acids/fish oils and fish oil supplements. The findings (derived from a large randomized controlled trial called SELECT that assesses the impact of several supplements and vitamins on prostate cancer risk) found men with high levels of fish oil ...

Re: Vitamin D: Scientific Studies & News

This is simple to explain. DIET - DIET - DIET They eat LOTS of fish and therefore get LOTS of Vitamin D3. jackD p.s. Of course those Eskimos who do not eat a native fish diet are at risk for health problems related to low Vitamin D3 levels. Also there are some concerns of excess Vitamin A toxicity i...

Re: Lipoic acid may provide ‘inexpensive’ MS treatment

That Lipoic acid helps MSers has been known for a long time. I have posted a lot on this in the past. The best version is R-Lipoic Acid. You need to take only 50% of the normal Alpha-Lipoic Acid amount to get the same effect. I take the LEF product. This link explains why R-Lipoic may be better. I t...

Re: Just got my brain MRI results

When it comes to MS lesions three important considerations are LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. MS lesions are found in the CORPUS CALLOSUM and PERIVENTRIICULAR most often. Vascular lesions are uncommon in these locations. jackD http://www.radiologyassistant.nl/en/p4556dea65db62/multiple-sclerosis.html

Re: New to the site - MRI results

I think you are correct in suspecting possible early stage MS. I base this up on the locations of the " T2/FLAIR hyperintensity" ...... periventricular location and corpus callosum. See the below link. The fact that there are no enhancing areas is very good. One key thing is there must be ...

I really like ZOCOR (Simvastatin) and here is why-

I switched from Lipitor to Zocor because... (as stated below) "In patients over age 64, those who took Zocor were 54% less likely to get Alzheimer's disease and 49% less likely to get Parkinson's disease than were matched patients not taking statin drugs. Those who took Lipitor were 9% less lik...

I would also like to mention that I take Clonidine (.2 mg Transdermal Patch) to control my blood pressure which is also being researched to help control MS spasticity. It also helps control atrial fibrillation. A problem which I also have. Am Heart J. 2001 Aug;142(2):E3. Clinical assessment of cloni...
