I have not personally experienced any side effects similar to yours, but I know someone that has had one infusion and the skin on her face has suddenly become extremely dry.

Art, I have had a cooling vest for several years. In fact, the company that made mine is no longer in business. I find it somewhat helpful, better than nothing. The type I have has pockets in which you insert frozen gel packs. Be aware that vests that use evaporative cooling are not good for humid c...

John,

I'm sorry you have not been able to get through the book! I hope others have been enjoying it. I've been pretty busy and have not quite finished it myself. Anybody else need more time?

I definitely agree that the book is funny. Also very odd. I'm not sure if it's odd because it's science fiction or it's odd because it's British. I'll have to say it's both. I did find myself laughing aloud and shaking my head, thinking, "those crazy Brits!" I'm not ready to give up readin...

A week would be more than enough time for me.
Would really appreciate it. Thanks.

And it looks like we have another participant. Great!

I had better get moving, too! I'm in the middle of reading something else and haven't even started yet! At least I don't have any road trips planned. I do have a book in mind for the next selection. I'll let everyone know about it on Saturday. Got to go now. I've got an awful lot of reading to do. -c.

I agree that this should be fun. Looks like John will need to lead the way, since most of us have never done this before. Just say the word!

I'm still interested, though three people doesn't seem like very many.

My husband can't get me interested in science fiction, but maybe Niko will. Am I reading too much into the Robert Heinlein quote?

Mick B,

Thanks for the good wishes.

Leeeway can let us know how it works out. I guess their insurance approval didn't take very long.

Latest on TGN 1412 trial

Maybe this is old news in the UK. We're so behind the times over here.

I just scheduled an appointment for next week to get enrolled in the TOUCH program, after which Biogen obtains approval from my insurance company. I can't wait!

Count me in! I was thinking of starting one myself, but didn't get around to it. Thanks for taking the initiative. I agree that the book selections should not be medical commentaries. The other guidelines seem okay, I guess. This is new to me, so I'm not quite sure. With all the people on this site ...

Biogen sent me a brochure that mentioned there would be about 1000 infusion centers in the U.S. Don't quote me on the number, but I'm pretty sure that's what it said. I remember being surprised it would be that many. I don't know that there will be one in Grenada, Mississippi, but I imagine there wi...
