Re: Twilight fatigue and aspirin

Hi msthunk, More than likely aspirini helps due to the caffeine in it. Many with MS use caffeine to help with fatigue. Aspirin itself does NOT have caffeine in it, although many OTC pain relievers do add caffeine to give it a little boost. For example, Excedrin (or its generic equivalents) has 250 ...

Re: Tecfidera Fertility for Men

Hi, I'm hoping to get some information from people who may know information or be in a similar position. My husband has been diagnosed with MS and is due to start Tecfidera soon. We want to try for another baby but we are worried as we don't know if the drug can cause infertility or birth defects. ...

Re: What was your first MS symptom?

I have not been diagnosed with MS. I found you because I have had weird symptoms all my life and just decided to try and find out what was going on. I've had high blood pressure since I was 25 years old. It doesn't run in my family, and at the time it wasn't weight- I weighed 103 lbs. I have never ...

Re: Bladder Issues

Hi jocelynrenee, and welcome! And, I'm sorry you're having bladder issues, which, like others have pointed out, could be due to medical conditions other than MS, and a urologist may be the best help here. It could be something easily treatable. However, this is one symptom I have plenty of personal ...

Re: MS and bipolar

thanks for responding. I've got an apt with a new neurologist next Wednesday. My psychiatrist did change my antidepressant which has helped a little but the physical symptoms aren't responding to the betaseron anymore. Maybe this new neurologist will help. I'm glad to hear that your psychiatrist is...

Re: MS and bipolar

I was finally dx'd with MS a year ago. The dr thinks I've had it since about 35. I'm 62 now. I also have bipolar and have been treated for that for years. I think some of the reason the MS went unnoticed was I blamed the balance and shaking problems on the bipolar meds. Like no longer being able to...

Re: Fever and wheezing on Tec

An update: turned out I had a pulmonary embolism with pneumonia on top of it. Have been in hospital all week. Coincidentally, the clot likely migrated the day after I upped my Tecfidera to 3/day. The docs don't think there's a connection, however they aren't familiar with the drug and they have no ...

Re: MRI w/o Contrast

Hello, My Neuro has scheduled me an MRI with and without contrast. I am a biomedical healing mama (mother of a recovering autistic daughter). I have read many studies that indicated contrast is very toxic and I would like to opt out of it and just do a scan without. My question is, is contrast detr...

New FDA warning Mar. 8, 2017 against CCSVI procedure (TVAM)

FYI - This notice even showed up in my local news today, so I looked it up on the FDA's website:

https://www.fda.gov/MedicalDevices/Safe ... 545286.htm

It updates & supplements the previous FDA warning from 2012, and refers to Dr. Arata's letter of Sept. 2016.

Re: Tefidera Prescribing Information

FYI - I clicked on NHE's link, and since it goes directly to the official Tecfidera "Full Prescribing Information", it does show the latest, updated version (currently from January, 2017). That means the new "liver injury" discovery is included. Thanks to NHE for posting these of...

Re: Question about treatment without MRI info.

Hi there, Following the advice from a regular member here, my husband (who has advanced MS - as seen on his two MRIs, but very mild symptoms - some optic neurisis and balance issues) - has decided not to get his follow-up, 6 month MRI. There are concerns about the toxicity of the contrast dye invol...

Hello, I am new to this site, but was hoping to get some info regarding aubagio and numb and tingling fingers as a side affect. I went on aubagio 3 months ago and about 4 weeks ago the tips of my fingers went numb and tingly and now its my whole hand. Just wondering if anyone else has had this side...
