Re: Notes from CureIous' at Stanford

Well I got the emails and had to come here and check. I don't get out much so probably no whiplash in my future but has anyone else 'felt' their stents as a sore and swollen area right beneath your ear? I suppose that's location related but mine sometimes gets sore and that swollen spot is not on th...

New, old member Loobie!

Hey all,

After a major extended hiatus, I'm back scrounging around on TIMS! Interested in the AO stuff that is the buzz here lately and actually came to a thread on here from a google search so I decided to see if I remembered my password! I hope I can get in on some good discussions.

Re: Swelling? Inflammation? Pressure in the noggin...

I had much of the same issues. I almost 'stopped moving' as the dizziness got so bad. I'm not trumpeting this at all but the CCSVI procedure took MOST of it away for me. Now I can push myself a lot more in terms of exercise without getting what I used to call "full head". However, it doesn...

One thing that is OBVIOUS to me, based on the mixed bag of results people have after getting the veins opened up, is that there is much more to be done. I think the fight is really all about down which road do we go? I mean sure the genetic component, and the venous, and the immune all undoubtedly p...

Before the procedure, and when I was still capable of running, I sweat like a pig. I would get a 1/4 mile in and my shirt would be drenched. Likewise when I was simply hot out, I would also start dripping from my nose straight away. That went away to a point when I started 'getting bad'. After the p...

I can't do the botox since I have both OAB and the detrussor/sphincter dissynergy that keeps me from even getting close to emptying.

The drugs simply don't work. The primary endpoint of the trials was statistical relevance of less lesion load after a short period of time. So that's all they had to meet. There was not one endpoint that had to do with disease progression so this drug wasn't even designed to deal with that. Since an...

We'll never know, until it's studied and CCSVI is perfected (let's hope it gets there) if CCSVI is the culprit. I myself don't think so. I know that everyone's central nervous system functions at a lower level in the heat. Think about how heat would zap you even when you were healthy. I mean when I ...

Bob, I have not noticed that at all. I am the king of overdoing it since, as most could tell you, you don't necessarily know you overdid it until afterwards. However, my personality type won't let me NOT eek out the additional rep or whatever. I am just not put together with much restraint!

I'll tell you Dake gets some bad press for the stuff that has happened with stents. All I know is when I saw Siskin, he said he had never seen such open, flowing stents and I saw him basically 2 years post procedure. Vive la stents I say! Plus, he's developing some new ones. I'm a fan of them but to...

Every MRI I've ever had has come back "unremarkable" meaning I don't pop off lesions. Tell that to my EDSS score. Granted I've had the procedure and it had some positive effect on me but not nearly the claims of some others (I'm still jealous of you guys!). However, I've been off the drugs...

since i started going on my exercise bike, i fell overall better. just dont push yourself too much. There's the rub for me. For me at least, there is a DEFINITE correlation between exercising and feeling good. I get sometimes in that conundrum of not even being able to exercise as I can't exert the...
