Re: Side effects

I've been taking B12 for a couple of weeks now (after 7 yrs of Copaxone). I didn't have any side effects other than flushing after the first couple of times on the lower dose, but I am experiencing quite a bit of stomach pain, heartburn and bloating now on the higher maintenance dose. I get full rea...

Re: injecting without auto inject?

I much prefer doing it manually. I switched years ago-- a lot less pain and swelling and I find it much simpler and faster, too!

Re: copaxone injections 3 x/week?

My neuro recommended every other day when I saw him last year as well. But since I've been doing well on it for the last five years taking it every day, I never tried every other day.

muscle stiffness?

Has anybody experienced muscle stiffness as a side effect of Copaxone?

My neuro says that in his practice he has seen Copaxone work beautifully for some pts and do nothing for others-- he has no idea why this would be-- differences in the sub- type of MS they have or differences in their physiological make up.

If I lived alone, I'd make the same choice you did, since I wouldn't want to be potentially incapacitated with flue-like symptoms for a day or so each week. I personally chose Copaxone because of its favourable side-effect profile. Also, systemic allergic reactions are supposed to be very very rare ...

Robbie-- in my book, both you and your friend are a 10! :D (and I know of which I speak, sharing my house with 3 -- three-- dogs!)

I think I'll try Organika's NAG from healthmart2000.com-- I want to be just as healthy as all those lucky rodents out there! My next question would be the dosage? But I guess I'll have to wait a few more years while they find out how this supplement works... with Copaxone, of course .

Sorry not to have responded earlier Tammi-- I inject manually and was told by SS to go in at an angle, since I don't have that much fat to inject into-- otherwide I'd be going in too deep and injecting into muscle. However, if I go in too shallow (too much of an angle) the medication ends up sitting ...

I agree harry and WW-- nothing seems to make a difference-- sites lump when they feel like it. It's probably just not cost-effective for Teva to investigate this problem or look for solutions as they likely don't believe that site reactions are much of a factor in MS pts opting for their drug (or no...

No words of wisdom WW, but I just wanted to let you know that my thoughts and prayers are with you-- I also had two miscarriages in the last 2 years (and one years ago as well) so I can well imagine the depth of your sadness and fear. So yes, the whole pregnancy thing can be beyond stressful... put ...

Thanks Tony-- it's a very good article. I think my neuro was talking about HRT with estriol only, which is bioidentical and the weakest of estrogens, whereas these studies looked at various combined therapies with other, synthetic estrogens.

Thanks WW-- I have a couple of large lumps that have been around for a few weeks now so I'm wondering what others' experiences have been with those.
