Hi TardisTart,
I haven't been to this board in some years but received an e-mail about your post because I must have subscribed to the thread.
So far as I can tell, a book discussion group didn't get off the ground here.

Hi bluesky, I doubt if you remember me but you were among the very kind people who welcomed me back around 2001 on another MS board, and I've often wondered what became of you. I don't look in here very often, but I found this thread today and just wanted you to know that I hope all is going well fo...

Thanks for the information! In other words, this journal might be the product of some researchers interested primarily in promoting one idea rather than in representing the spectrum of research on a topic--? If it's so little known, it sounds as if this might be what's going on. On the other hand, s...

Yes, I've been on MSKK for a year and a half now but am drifting off just now. I recognized your user name and wondered if you're the same person. I've been on this board for a longer time but haven't posted much here at all. Books to recommend? It depends on what you like. I keep a record of books ...

Hi Longing, I think it's good that your neurologist took you off the Copaxone. The experts seem to have trouble figuring out what a plain, ordinary, garden-variety IPIR is and what is actually an allergic reaction. As long as they haven't really figured it out, better safe than sorry. I doubt that I...

To check for blood, after you've pushed the needle in but before you start pushing the plunger, you pull back on the plunger slightly (not far at all). If you see blood in the syringe, that's when some people say you should discard the syringe and start over. I keep forgetting to check for blood in ...

I haven't been here in ages but saw this thread. No, I don't drive but then I never did. I was forcibly retired by MS many years ago but kept on doing occasional free-lance work at home if I could find the work and was able to do it. I still do occasional work, mainly because SSDI doesn't pay quite ...

If it's any comfort to you, I've been on Copaxone for over a year now (since June 2007) and so far haven't had so much as a twinge of an IPIR. I've heard of Dr. Howard Weiner, also big in MS research. It's good that you have a doctor who's on top of things--or maybe not so good if he's so well-known...

Hi Longing4Cheese, IPIR = immediate post-injection reaction Some people have this rare reaction to a Copaxone shot. I believe it happens to about 10 percent of the Copaxone users. I've never had it (so far) but have read quite a few posts by people who have experienced it. It can be quite mild or so...
