Re: Gilenya patients fail to develop an immune response following vaccination
Diagnosed 14 years ago, with symptoms for around 18 years. No treatment at first, then Tysabri then Gilenya.

Re: Gilenya patients fail to develop an immune response following vaccination
Hi NHE,
Still on Gilenya- her lymphocytes dropped very low 18 months ago so now she takes every second day which seems to keep the count high enough to keep her Neuro happy.
She’s been largely symptom free for 8 years (touch wood) so nothing but good things to say about Gilenya.
Cheers

Gilenya patients fail to develop an immune response following vaccination
One to watch - study indicates that those on Gilenya do not elicit an immune response following dose of Pfizer vaccine. Authors recommend not giving dose to people taking Gilenya. https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/17562864211012835 There was a response from other MS researchers critical ...

Re: I'm switching to gilenya and I'm scared help please
Apologies for late reply! My wife is a school teacher, switched to gilenya two years ago after developing antibodies to tysabri. No side effects at all, no relapses since starting on it. Good luck!

An Occam's Razor conclusion is that the CCSVI is caused by MS. This study supports the findings of the Beiruit study and others http://www.thisisms.com/ftopict-14530-lebanon.html That's not to say that there is no merit in treating MS. Just that treating CCSVI appears very unlikely to prevent MS. Fr...

There's several studies indicating that whole body vibration increases blood flow http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11380538 There have been conflicting studies on the effects of wbv on msers. Given vibration training increases strength through neurological adaptation perhaps this isn't suprising h...

Interesting patientx....given the natural history of ms it seems peculiar that there is no association between the HLA and progressive MS. Perhaps its an anomaly in this sample. With respect to association of ccsvi and progressive ms this seems to support the conclusion of the beirut study that ms i...

Cheer, I think what they are trying to say (badly)is if the gene is a causal factor and ccsvi is a causal factor for ms, one would expect there to be a statistical association between the two which there is not ie if the gene is present it should be more likely that ccsvi is present as well, but it ...

Reminds me a bit of the bee sting therapy theory...some passionate advocates who were anecdotally convinced it worked. In the end, no effect http://www.neurology.org/content/65/11/1764.short Ccsvi has more complexity but it is interesting that as the evidence mounts that it does not cause ms, and ex...

Perhaps the logical explanation is, as the study and other summise, ccsvi does not cause ms. However, this does not mean it does not exist in those with long term ms ie ccsvi is a symptom of ms. This would explain the fatigue relief etc felt by those who have the liberation treatment. The issue then...
