Novantrone and Leukemia and Greater Heart Damage Risk

My husband was diagnosed in early September 2008 as having Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Secondary to administration of Novantrone. There are three other patients on his hospital floor with the same problem. I think that the public has been underquoted the risk. If the risk that the Novantrone mf...

On the demyelinating disease front, my husband has continued to make slow but steady improvement. It's amazing how much treating with a high powered cocktail of antibiotics has improved his life and neurologic function. He was told at his late August doctor visit (MS/Antibiotic doctor) that he could...

WRWH - Thanks for the post!

Re the genetic testing - I am not sure which lab was used - a physician friend got it ordered for me and helped me interpret. I think all that we had done was well under $1000 US.

Good luck with your husband!

Had once hypothesized that PPS was similar to Varciella. At one point Varicella is "Chicken Pox" with one generally self limiting manifestation and later in life Varicella reactivation presents in another manifestation "Shingles". Previously dormant virus migrates and creates new...

Probably should report on these per one of my last posts. I previously classified the following as "Minor Improvement" I'll asterisk * the ones that have continued to improve Agility * Aphasia * Balance * Confusion * Episodic Memory * Frustration Tolerance * Hypotonia * Long Term Memory * ...

Ken - Having been down this road, perhaps a good tactic to take would be to wait to do any selling/convincing of the conservative local neuro until you have MRI proof. I work in healthcare and have numerous science degrees and I couldn't budge ours with heavy data until he saw the clear MRI proof an...

My husband continues to improve in sort of a slow and steady/ week over week fashion. His balance, stamina, energy are all very good. He is sleeping a normal 8 hours each night and very rarely needs a nap. We are now working on regaining coordination and overall agility. He walks unassisted with eas...

Ken - I read each of your excellent posts here carefully. Appreciate your taking the time to provide such detailed information - it's important for those that follow behind ! Don't usually respond to your excellent posts unless you have a question or I have a suggestion. Want to keep your thread cle...

Since last post, my husband continues to improve - albeit at a slower rate. Improvements of late have been primarily balance and speech related with more sublte improvements in cognitive function and memory. He has improved to the point that he was finally accepted to a day brain rehab program recen...

My husband's body temp was also routinely in the range of 95.6 to 96.7 F (36.3 to 35.9 C) degrees. Had his thyroid checked multiple ways and at multiple times with results always solidly in normal range. Numerous physicians consulted could offer no explanation for this phenomena which is also appare...

Will add that my husband started out with one of the basic versions of an antibiotic protocol that others are doing here Doxycycline 100mg twice daily plus azithromycing 250mg MWF and a little Flagyl. Since his disease was more aggressive and issues more pronouced his antibiotic cocktail became a lo...

Ken - You really do an excellent job of documenting your and Kim's journey! Re the yeast : Step up the probiotics. 200billion a day in mixed strains is not too much. Most people don't take nearly enough in my opinion (when treating with antibiotics - for anything - much less in long term CAP). Probo...
