Re: Blurry vision on Tecfidera?

I have noticed more eye problems since starting Tec. My eyes often look red or bloodshot. They are more itchy too.

Re: Fasting triggers stem cell regen. of damaged immune syst

The problem with all the articles I see about the USC study is a lack of specifics for how to replicate these results, i.e. how long to fast, water only, etc.

Tecfidera and glutathione

So, I have been reading about how Tecfidera works by depleting levels of glutathione in your body. In my research I can't find info about whether I should, when I start Tecfidera next week, stop using the glutathione supplement I take? What about other supplements that are supposed to raise levels o...

Re: This may sound harsh

I don't think you are insensitive. From the inside of MS looking out it is difficult to understand why some would 'want' MS. I think the people you see saying this are people who have a host of ambiguous symptoms, everyone around them thinks they are crazy, and they have convinced themselves that th...

This is great news! Unless, of course, you have insomnia.

Re: Does this sound like MS??

It could be MS. But it could also be a host of other neurological disorders too. Sorry I can't be more definitive, but the neurologist will order an MRI, and that WILL give you an answer.

Re: Protozoal Infection -- The Next Big Discovery?

I'm not so worried about Dr. Fry being a quack - he's not selling me anything or costing me any time or money, so I'm willing to read about his ideas. As well, in this interview his suggestions about diet modification ring true (low fat, low sugar, etc), and he never says you have to buy his proprie...

Re: Linda Ronstadt says she suffers from Parkinson's disease

Ronstadt says she began to show symptoms as long as eight years ago, but attributed her inability to sing then to a tick disease. Perhaps the "tick disease" was the cause of the Parkinson's. (What Dr. Steven Fry talks about as causing MS and many other neurological autoimmune diseases: ht...

Swank diet is not "rich in fats." It is low-fat, less than 20 grams a day.

Re: Protozoal Infection -- The Next Big Discovery?

Well, when I read this interview (and it is long, you really have to devote some time to absorb all the facets of what he is saying) I was surprised and intrigued. His findings - that there is a biofilm in the blood of people with autoimmune diseases, the result of this protozoa - explains so much. ...

Protozoal Infection -- The Next Big Discovery?

"New findings of a previously unknown protozoa in patients with conditions such as lupus, chronic fatigue, multiple sclerosis , Lou Gehrig's disease, etc may prove to be a major medical breakthrough. While there are still some pieces of the puzzle to be proven, there are many pieces that fit so...

I felt better when I was on the birth control pill than I did when off it. Keep in mind that correlation is not causation.

Re: Check this out - VERY INTERESTING MATERIAL

It is a very interesting alternative theory for the reason for the geographical disparity in incidence and prevalence of MS. I don't know that this offers any personal solutions, though, except for those of us trying to ensure our kids don't get MS; we could make sure they get an iodine rich diet.

Curcumin (extract of the spice turmeric) supplements greatly help my spasticity, but I still wouldn't give up my Ampyra; I can barely walk without it.

Re: children of parents with ms

Wow, I feel like my nine year-old's experience of having a parent with MS is so different than any of the kids in this article. Even though he has seen me decline from walking to using a cane to using a walker, we always talk openly and honestly with him, and he is generally happy and has a great so...
