As this compound is thought to be neuroprotective, it seems consistent with a more modest effect on relapse rate (inflammation). Maybe one day we'll see combination of neuroprotective drugs like this one and anti-inflammation drugs.

As usual, wait & see. :)

I've seen (maybe on thisisms ? can't remember) another version of this sticker, to be stuck on parking-space abusers. It was written "Stupidity is not a handicap. Park elsewhere." Maybe I'll print a dozen of those for when I go shopping.

Thanks Lyon for your answer. So, that's just a matter of dose. I had understood the "reboot" concept, and I totally agree when you say it's a promising approach. But I couldn't find any reference of dosages which are used with "normal" cyclophosphamide, so I couldn't compare with...

There's something I don't understand about Revimmune. The treatment itself is just cyclophosphamide, and it's already used in the treatment of MS. For instance, it is delivered in France when CRABS don't work, or for rapidly evolving MS. (The commercial name is Endoxan). And from what I've seen, it ...

You're right. That's not the same problem. But, ...the liver risk has been debated since at least last year, including at an FDA advisory panel. (msnbc article) In fact, I think the liver problem was already suspected, but with a 1/1000 ratio, it was probably not seen during trials (1/1000, that's d...

That's not very surprising to me. Many treatments may be linked to liver injury. Even high-dose paracetamol may cause liver damage ! And the interferons too. That's why people treated with Avonex, Betaseron or Rebiff have to make blood draws regularly to check liver function. [/quote]

I had heard about this treatment before, and something seemed strange to me. According to the website, you can purchase Enkorten right now whereas it's still under investigation in phase II, with only 60 patients. Quite uncommon for MS therapies. Any idea ?

In France, this concern is turning into a strange affair, quite decorrelated from scientific and clinical facts. The french equivalent of the US Supreme Court granted a few months ago an indemnization to a nurse who has MS and had received the HB vaccine. She was convinced her MS was due to the vacc...

Hepatitis B vaccine and MS : what about the US ?

Hi all As I've mentioned it before, I'm french, and the question of the possible link between Hepatitis B vaccination and MS is regularly raised in Pasteur's country. From my point of view, it seems to be a "french-only" concern. My question is : what is the north american opinion about th...

About Gemacbio's GEM-SP, I had recently an e-mail contact from a member of the board. She told me the pipeline was in "stand-by" because of a lack of funding. Next step would be a phase IIb.

It's surely a good joke for christmas, but it is being published on the US National libreary of Medecine, on www.pubmed.gov ! < shortened url > This is a "real" paper, with real authors, known for "normal" publications about MS, and I wonder how they could submit it to a serious ...
