Stem Cells
I suggest the stem cells topic be broken into specific treatments. HSCT (hematopoietic stem cell transplant) aka bone marrow transplant is a different procedure than having placenta derived mesenchymals injected in the vein or spine. In the states, this procedure (HSCT) is performed at Northwestern ...

Re: Need feedback on the use of Rituxan
Spihota71, I am JCV positive also but my neuro thinks the risk is minimal. On a counternote, he feels the tysabri risk is too high so for me it's rituxan or nothing. I'm trying to decide between doing nothing or doing rituxan. I have yet to hear any first hand negative experiences with it and my doc...

Re: Need feedback on the use of Rituxan
Thanks, NHE! My neuro wants me on IV treatment twice spaced a week or two apart every six months. I'm going through pre-approval and blood testing prior to starting.

Need feedback on the use of Rituxan
My neuro made a personal call to me this morning. My ms is acting particularly aggressive lately. He wants me to start rituxan. Does it work for you? What side effects have you experienced? How often have you had treatment? Do you get treatment intraveneously or intrathecally? Do they even offer thi...

Re: Amputation for foot drop?
The biggest thing I see with amputation is that even if your ms is RR you're probably still progressing. When your left arm quits working will you want to amputate that too? It's a never ending condition that will continue slowly creeping to other areas unless you're extremely lucky. I am RR diagnos...

Tests to request from endocrinologist
I think seeing an endocrinologist to get more information on how my internal body works is a good idea. I think I have vitamin and mineral deficiencies, actually I'm pretty sure I do, plus absorption issues also. I've been taking biotin for about 9 months and thought I'd see a difference in my nails...

I wrote something to settle my mind down for sleep.
A stay at home mom day… 6:30am Wake up, brush teeth, wash face, pull hair up in ponytail, throw on workout clothes, go into kitchen, start coffee, start breakfast for kids, flip on dryer to fluff up school uniforms for kids. 6:45am Kids’ alarms go off. Household stirs and morning begins. Run upstair...

Re: What treatment to choose...
Thanks for the responses. I have to rule out alemtuzumab (limtrada) since I've been in the trial. I am JVC positive so Tysabri is out. I know that I won't stick to the injectables - I will put off taking the shot or skip it using the slightest of excuses. I don't have faith in any treatment and have...

What treatment to choose...
I have never been on an FDA approved ms drug. I chose the clinical trial route since I was first diagnosed in Aug. 2006. My clinical research coordinator said it's time for me to consider an FDA approved treatment. With the choices out there today where should I begin? The "flavor of the year&q...

Got all it's gonna give me
I went to my neuro clinic for my monthly blood draw. The trial coordinator asked me how I was doing since my last dose of alemtuzumab (it's been over a year and I've dosed four times in total). I told her that I was slowly declining and she said that I should begin to look at other treatment options...

If you decide to take it make sure to report back on how it worked for you. I'm always in need of more energy. I hope it works.
